The content would need to vastly improve. If I am to start paying to watch videos on Youtube, I want more than 2 minute teasers, music videos and can videos. I want full length movies and TV shows.
I would just like to add that this has the same problem as the blank media levy.
Why should a levy be placed on all sales of blank media even when that media is not used for illegal content?
Why should a levy be included on all Internet subscriptions even if that person does not pirate?
Yeah, because the only use for the Internet is piracy. These collection agencies are the most morally bankrupt organisations there are. They need to be shut down ASAP.
More legislation that hurts SMEs and consumers, and that will do nothing to help the High Street stores (not sure what you lot call them); all so the fat cats in DC and the multinationals can suppress competition and line their own pockets.
Corporate America at work. The same attitudes are becoming increasingly common here in the UK too.
I take it the 'you cannot be tried for the same crime twice' concept doesn't apply to civil matters? Perhaps this case is reason enough that it should?

That said, if a levy were introduced, I would start pirating content.

That is what would happen, ISPs would pass the cost on to the consumer.

Um, the real reason creators create anything? The love of the creative process? The joy they experience when their work is enjoyed by millions?
That is the REAL value of creative work and that makes the great works priceless.

He is defending the right of the accused to the same due process afforded to anyone else accused of a crime.
There is a difference.
