Yeees, because we all know how swedish justice system is perfect (*khm* Piratebay anyone? *khm*).
He is accused of rape like this:
On 17 August 2010, in the home of the injured party [SW] in Enkoping, Assange deliberately consummated sexual intercourse with her by improperly exploiting that she, due to sleep, was in a helpless state.
Piracy is great? Nobody thinks robbery or criminal violence at sea is great except maybe fot actual pirates. But (file)sharing is great, yes.
And this is not about beliefs - I don't believe sharing is great, I know it (as in knowledge, not certainty). With filesharing people will weed out shitty movies and suddenly imdb scores are a bit more realistic (as in "people that have seen the movie aren't necessarily fans of it"). Scores went a lot lower and a lot faster - why do you think those CAM rips are hunted down? Because people get to see what shitty movie got made and social media takes care of the rest. All this happens very fast (one weekend) and suddenly studio can't rip off people since they already know the movie's shit.
And this is evolution - with human selection replacing natural selection.
"I'm not going to bother..."
and
" I often just check Mike's profile to see what he's said, since I get so much annoying feedback and incredibly hostile responses from the TDers."
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Hold on a minute
You see - I'm not stealing - I am copying. It is hard to get that through your skull, I know, but bear with me while I try to explain astrophysics of sharing:
1. I find something I like
2. I share it
You see - education is not a democracy. Ideas that are most popular are not necessarily the best. So just because some stupid Hangover movie is most downloaded movie - that does not make it the best. Most of these movies suck hairy balls of ebola infested monkeys. Now THAT is pretty pathetic.
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Hold on a minute
You are comparing tangible goods with untangibles? And dangerous fireworks with copyright infingements?
And can't you be more civil? All of your dipshits and dogshits... you do love your shit.
Let me introduce you to Reality - what Hollywood produces lately is not what we PIRATES (Argh!!!) download. We find quality content through other means and I surely wouldn't waste my bandwidth (hint, it's broadband in real sense of the word, not "broadband" you have in US, so yeah, I can only waste time) on some hollywood remake of some shitty remake of some dudes getting drunk.
The only entitlement is coming from industry of middlemen. Come on - in US you made "taking a cut that's bigger than cake" into an art form.
DNS? Surely you mean series of tubes (and not a truck). If you don't understand - these tubes can be filled and when they do, your messages will have to wait in line. DNS blocking would solve that waiting like Homeland Security solved US, well, homeland security! And why not mess with the Internet - it is property od USA! (Al Gore made it by himself.)
I don't get it - why do people assume that we (as netizens) search for torrent on google? There are other search engines that are a lot better at finding torrent files than google. Ranking google results badly will just drive me to DuckDuckGo or some other search engine...
"So getting lessons about freedom from a group of people who don't know about freedom, well..."
Really? where have you been last few years? Green revolution? I feel sorry for you if you'd rather have "balanced" "news" like FOX.
"Since we aren't talking murder here, I will guess you were waving your arms and jumping up and down as you tried to write this, ranting and raving."
Now this is some deflecting here - have you addressed any points here? Let me check:
- you rant about him ranting and raving
- because they have censorship, they can't know freedom? Wow, talk about being condescending.
- bias, Mike (patronizing?), choir, bias, quotation marks around the word facts
Hmmm... I see no points from video addressed here. Strange.
Ripping music from youtube 360p videos? What's next - fixing those tapes with a pencil and record the sound played with a webcam microphone few metres away.
I find music on youtube and then get it from somewhere else in better quality (spare me the fallacies on "somewhere else"). If "somewhere else" is a internet store or even your own homepage with paypal option, by logic vested in me the music track on youtube is promotion. If I torrent some music from your label (If I found any) and I really like it - I'll send you money (well, I'd just try to buy it somewhere) and I'll promote your music through social media and my own social (non-digital) life.
Now lets go back to your "blacking out that bootleg video because people download music from youtube" argument - in the time this video was blacked out a lot of people did not hear your music and therefore did not care at all. There's a lot of good music to find and we (general public you'd like "educated") don't need yours.
And explain this to me - if you have your own video with identical music - what is stopping youtube audio rippers from ripping your video? Your writing kinda sounds like ye olde gatekeeper mentality of CONTROL.
Wait a minute - so Rimowa pushed their product placement into Avengers.
Avengers producers: "OK, but we need some backup cases."
Rimowa: "Sure, but return them after you used them."
Avengers producers: "Sure, no problem"
Now Rimowa wants to push its products into Avengers marketing? Really? So when some Avengers fan wants a DVD with a special DVD holder, he will have to pay more for the effin case than DVD is actually worth?
Or shortly:
Rimowa pushed its product into the movie. Producers said it's ok - they could just choose another one. They could design it themselves - design of a nonfunctional suitcase is trivial. So now, when they made a replica (since they already had Rimowa product placement in the movie) of that case, Rimowa wants a piece of that nonexistant cake. Bitch please. :)
