...I would immediately pay the fine and then pull the Google Maps product from France and replace it with a description of the lawsuit and an explanation of why the product is no longer available with links to the Courts and Government if the user wished to make their thoughts on the subject known.
Sir, I am employed by the British/American rock band Foreigner and I must ask that you desist immediately from using the phrase "cold as ice".
This is a trademark/copyright/patent belonging to the band and any and all use of it in the world must be licensed.
Please go to www.getpaidforverylittle.org, enter your name and address and REF:15485485845878/AC/DE/487458656 in the case reference field. This one time use of "cold as ice" costs £1.99, all other uses, including people quoting your original will cost an additional £1.98.
"Excuse me Sir, The park has now been incorporated into the National Park and walking dogs off the leash is no longer allowed. I'm sorry for the confusion and I will ensure that signage explaining this is placed at the car parks, picnic areas and rest rooms as soon as possible. I'm sorry that I have to ask but could you please leash your dogs.
Thanks Sir and once again on behalf of the Ranger Service I apologise for the confusion."
errr... this is about VEVO and their label masters infringing by watching an illegal stream of an NFL game, the same sort of stream that similar content companies are trying to have a 23 year old British citizen extradicted for LINKING to, something that is LEGAL in the UK.
Well they sure didn't have the current never ending, continual re-charge for the same product, keep the great, great grandkids in caviar system in mind either did they!
Stop whinging and start looking for a job that doesn't envolve demonising the people that actually buy your product.
But, but... I'm not making a lot of money and unless I sue people who take photos that have 3+ people laying down in a bed, jumping up in the air with clouds as a background or couples kissing how are my great, great grandchildren supposed to feed themselves!!
We've done it with beer and cigarettes, now time to do it with all the major drugs.
Just because something is legal doesn't mean everyone is going to do it all the time, the vast majority of people don't turn up at work drunk so there is nothing to say that they will turn up to work high on Cocaine.
Also by regulating it you can get Big Pharm to make the stuff so it cab be approved and sold in licensed premises.
You really are clueless, the last Kickstarter project I got involved with already paid me for my contribution. For my UK Pounds I got a signed script, a poster, hat, t-shirt and a copy of the film (including commentary and out-takes only available via a Kickstarter donation).
