I (a male) grew up being bullied for having red hair and a skin tone about a shade-and-a-half darker than albino. What would the school say to me? "Dye your hair and put some make-up on"?
F*** You, school! Protect the victim, not the bullies!
The key element found to be in violation of state law is the fact that ATS' cameras (like all traffic enforcement cameras) presume the registered owner of the vehicle is the driver.
So how can an IP address be legally used to sue a downloader? What's the difference and why can't the driving part of the law be applied to computers?
This story really calls for a follow-up in a week or so to see if Jamison reports a significant demand for his "C&D IPA" specifically because of the Streisanding effect of this story.
As far back as kindergarten (in the '70s) police came to our school to teach us bike safety, including hand signals when riding on roads.
1. Don't ride on sidewalk. (It has 'walk' right in the name!) 2. Always ride on the right, with the flow of traffic. 3. Always ride single file. 4. Always use your left hand (ONLY!) to signal. ---- right turn = left arm out, 90-deg elbow bend, hand up, palm forward ---- left turn = left arm straight out, palm forward ---- stop/brake = left arm out, 90-deg elbow bend, hand down, palm backward.
It's pretty idiotic to use the lights to signal a left turn, when the arm movement signals a right.
I would have loved to see an Amendment to the Bill that declared East Texas ineligible for making any legal decisions on patents. They waste everyone's time with the morons they have there deciding these cases.
There are plenty of reasons not to trust the NSA, but worrying about their own employees isn't one of them. Fact is, every business suffers from some sort of 'loss', be it information or merchandise, be it for personal gain or industrial espionage. It is management's duty to prevent that loss.
How the management works to prevent loss, and what they do when it's discovered, are quite different stories than the mere fact they are working to prevent it.
I have a dream ... that the King Estate will wake up and see the irony that they are now censoring MLK's words more effectively than the government ever could.
I see this as a confirmation as to how the White House is being transparent .... because we can all see right through their attempt to suppress the information.
This is just further evidence that DHS policy has become a religion run by fanatics. They are trying to play GOD; the way GOD cast Adam and Eve from the Garden of Eden for eating the fruit of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil (if you believe in that sort of thing), so will a DHS employee be cast from the cadre for learning about what their own agency is doing.
They want to maintain ignorance, because through ignorance they maintain control.
2. What part(s) of the constitution hasn't been tramped to death, doing more damage than the terrorists could have even dreamed of, all in the panic to 'deal with the terrorists'?
Obama's done a damn fine job at protecting the 3rd Amendment!

If something is (essentially) free, people are more likely to do it than if they have to pay a considerable cost.
