...and the stupidly complicated law will produce fruitful (for lawyers) lawsuits year after year.
Isn't this fraud or conspiracy or something, come to think of it? They make more laws, and more laws benefit the lawyers, who make more money and make even more laws...
Senator Moran has made my list of "might be okay" people.
Must watch him closely and see that he doesn't stray...
It's pleasing to see his desire for fiscal responsibility (among other things); however he's addressing the symptoms, not the problem.
The problem which needs to be addressed is the fact that our nation's money supply is controlled by a private institution. So long as such a situation persists, it is the private institution who is in control of our country.
"Give me control of a nation's money supply, and I care not who makes its laws."
This article sparked an idea for a new television series.
It will be called "DMCA Investigators" The premise: upon tips on rumors, without evidence, our daring pair of investigators kick in the door and shoot the suspect.
Later, if the suspect survives, they might ask a few questions.
And all throughout the series it's never made entirely clear who they work for--they always split the scene before any real legal consequences for their actions can be brought against them.
It will be done in a sort of "Supernatural meets X-Files" style. This will be a million dollar hit! Hollywood, here I come.
I lie to myself all the time--I'm only human. The thing is, I take great pains in attempting to be aware of when I'm lying to myself; makes it easier to perceive when others are attempting to deceive me.
So long as your lie is believed, you have control of a person's thoughts (on at least one subject) which means you have a measure of control over that person's actions and conclusions, based on their "informed" reasoning--which is, in part, based upon your lies.
Lies which are widely believed often change the worlds so it resembles the lie, or at least it will in people's minds.
Examples: Napoleon was 5'6", tall to average height, always depicted as short. George Washington was 5'1", and is never depicted as short.
You use you whole brain all the time--yet the "10% of your brain" bit has been touted as true for decades.
Snake Oil was an effective Chinese joint pain remedy--who's name in now synonymous with scams due to a smear campaign by Bayer.
"We the people" on the Declaration of Independence was actually short form for: "We, the white, male, land-owning wealthy people"...
Anyhow, I could continue typing examples all day, but have other things to do. Look around, there's tons of examples as the the value of a lie.
They've gelded the newspapers & television news--who're well trained to only tell the vetted and approved lies--and they want to gentle the internet in the same manner; but the internet's not a horse, it's goddamn monster!
Poor poor stupid poor pathetic poor pooor old guard...
May the rest in peace.. and hurry up and die.

I preference to having a 'hard copy' of my movies--that way if anything happens to my media server's drives (or cloud account, in your scenario) I've not lost access to the original and can always rebuild.

Maybe they don't know what "clarify" means. They need a good dictionary. Normal dictionary, not legal dictionary.
Come to think of it--that's probly the problem, they're not using the same dictionary as the rest of us.

It's no longer "politically correct" to say retarded.
Even if it is the accurate clinical definition for the condition which a person has.

I believe wisdom is where you find it and truth is true regardless of the source.
My belief structure is largely a matter of convenience, pragmatism, whimsy, Occam's razor, and scientific method--not particularly in that order.
I am always ready to revise or discount something I believe when faced with evidence said belief is wrong.
