Considering that people have put up a petition to have the DRM restored to the Xbox one and any complaints about the DRM policies have been met with "PC gamers have dealt with it forever, you'll just have to learn to deal with it"...
No thanks, I prefer my controllers that let me play fighting games, ease of access, used games, the ability to share my games with my friends, no need to be a freaking wizard to make a program work, no need to download additional drivers to make a game work and superior control for action-based games that aren't FPS.
Because I hear people going "Oh, DRM isn't so bad, look at Steam, it's got DRM, it's good." and "PC games have had DRM forever now, just suck it up and deal with it."
Ad hominem on a strawman.
No, it's not. Maybe you've never heard of it, but PC gamers call themselves the "Master Race" when it comes to gaming.
Seriously, just google search "PC Master Race" and you'll see what I'm talking about.
The sheer fact that you're defending DRM policies proves that.
PC Master Race my ass! PC gamers just gave up and accepted this crap and then when consoles finally started to get the same DRM policies that the PC gamers got, console gamers got upset and PC gamers don't understand why.
Seriously, the defense I hear for those DRM policies is "PCs have had them forever, just suck it up, it's not that bad."
And, if not for Steam, how WOULD the PC gaming market look right now?
But of course SOPA would NEVER be abused at all. It would only go after criminals, surely grandmothers, little children, dead people and college students, not to mention fax machines, would NEVER get hit by SOPA's broadly and badly worded language.
When it comes to people saying "why aren't you talking about Google or Facebook", my response is always "I don't use Facebook".
Really, I hate it when websites force you to sign in through Facebook just to comment, it's completely stupid.
Whenever someone mentions Facebook or Google's data collection, unless it's part of the article, it really isn't part of the narrative and thus comes across as an attempt to derail the conversation.
Another thing, when it comes to certain people, they're usually rallying about things that are just obnoxious, attack other users, the author, this website, some people (calling others fat, saying things about their grandparents, etc), so the report button gets clicked when their names are seen, not because of any attempt at censorship (the comment is still there after all), but because the person has such a bad rep that any posts they make get swallowed up because of their previous remarks/attitudes.
We're just peons. Our lords and masters are gracious enough to allow us to live. Why, if they killed us, we should be THANKFUL that they did so, because they have decided, in their elite, superior wisdom, that we would be better off serving the planet as fertilizer or something like that.
I mean, they get their own brand of justice, where they can violate every law known to man, and not serve any time in prison or pay any fines, while the rest of us are forced to pay for their crimes like normal people.
Re: Holy cow! Anomaly discovered and FIXED in 12 minutes!
ignore anomalies
By that logic, you shouldn't exist.
and why should we ignore anomalies?
once is an anomaly, twice is a pattern, three times is a trend.
WHich means, for your addled brain, if we ignore "anomalies", they become something bigger.
Remember this quote, memorize it well...
"First they came for speech I did not like, and I said nothing. Then they came for speech that did not affect me, again, I said nothing. When they came for speech that affected me, no one was around to say anything."
The problem is, how many of those people who were asked knew about the NSA stuff and how bad things really are and how many of them don't know and how many of them are NSA apologists?
When I talk about this stuff to people, they don't always understand right away until I start breaking down the details, THEN they're against the NSA and for what Snowden did.
