If there's anything that 'something needs done about' - it's the out of control media. CNN being near the top of the list.
Up yours CNN, I still won't watch your wretched channel and if you really want, I'll tell you who I am, lol - for a price. Isn't that the corporate way?
Then there's the claim that video games should "follow the leadership of the motion picture industry" in its system to prevent children from viewing certain content
ROFLMFAO!!!
Yeah, make games more like movies...
They aren't quite as violent as stuff like SAW.
Make systems redundant, don't depend on them for critical functions - like power plants, if they are at all connected to the internet, and back them up with a solid DR plan.
How much more of a 'scare' is Cyber-Terrorism over say... a bad mainboard or array controller on a system? not much, really - if you take steps to protect the data.
We have 'critical' machines where I work too - and on occasion, they die. We fix them and continue to profit.
Either way, I can't see how Apple has any liability here at all, unless Stewart sent a DMCA takedown that was ignored, and there's no indication of that in his lawsuit.
I dunno know about that - in this case. Apple takes 'complete control' over which apps are offered in the store. It's not like Google would be - just finding information out there.
Apple has a conscious grip of control on the apps, so it would seem to me, because of that, they would share some in the liability. They have 'approved' it after all.
the first amendment is for hippies and welfare mothers, not productive members of society. once you get over that you will understand that the masnick just holds up the first amendment as a way to steal from the real producers.
Perhaps in China, but it's the LAW in the U.S.
And steal what? News? Who owns that?
I guess in the 'corporate world' someone has to.. problem you might want to look at in the 'corporate world' too though - is who owns you?
So - if three different parties share a gun to rob banks - you can lump them all into one case?
Why does that *not* make even a lick of sense - even for a moron in a hurry.
But - hey, I guess the same argument could apply in the corporate world.
Let's say 'Mr. Doe' at said lawfirm of Kanwe, Cheatem, and Hoewll commits a crime with the company computer system. Then ALL employees of the firm could be charged and ALL go to jail in the same single trial - because, of course, those computers 'shared network switches' and servers.
I'm curious - if they have gotten 'rights' to post screen shots of the 'Windows Operating System' from Microsoft - or if they are just posting it without consent?
I'm SURE the Windows EULA mentions that, but I'd have to dig..
Additionally - they have links to Google on their 'Terms of use' page.
I think that someone should send a takedown notice to have the IFPI's website removed from Google as well. Seems only fair since they infringe my copyright on good sense.
Good point - wouldn't linking to sites with 'trademarked names' also apply then?
So they should block any and all 'trademarked' names of sites as well, including record companies, movie names, corporation names and such...

That or write them a check for that amount.

I use Facebook so little anymore... I've really thought about deleting the account, to be honest.
I would; however, use a social networking site that doesn't interfere with my free speech. Of course, it's their site - they can do what they want..
But then - I don't have to use it.

But indeed, perfect example.

If a corporation does it, then it's ok to just settle in civil court?
Truly a statement that clearly shows that politicians are not representing the people anymore, they represent their corporate money mills.
