Re: Re: Lawsuit vs ACTA
The fact that creators can still make money without copyright/patent/trademark shows that at least enough people still respect their work to make it profitable for them to continue to create. Now as for the middle men...so sorry!

Formal
I would be a little more open if a formal letter was sent, perhaps through UPS or FedEx. Sorry to be a luddite here but phone calls and emails just scream scam. Unless it is from somebody you know, you have to think twice. At least with the letter you could have googled the number they wanted you to call and check out if it is legit or shown up on the 800-notes sites.

My theory
My guess as to what happens is as follows:
1. Lady falls into fountain...nobody was really around so nobody noticed. I doubt security even saw it on their monitors.
2. Lady calls security telling them what she did.
3. Before going out security reviews the tapes and then changes their pants after wetting themselves. This could easily take 20 minutes, especially if they want to have themselves covered liability-wise before talking with her.
4. Later guards upload to YouTube for all to witness.
If the lady never would have called security in the first place I bet nobody would have known. I am sure she told her cousins about this so once they saw the video that matched the lady's story they knew it was her.

Senators Response
I sent letters to our reps on the scanners and gropes. Sen. Harkin and Rep. Latham pretty much slapped the "this is what we need to do to keep us safe" line in their replies. Sen. Grassley (also on the Senate Judiciary Committee) response was essentially similar to Leahy's. He stated that right now it is the best way but does not believe that the measures taken by TSA are necessary to the extent of the invasion of privacy on citizens. He also stated that he would look into investigating TSA's new tactics. So at least we have two on the same committee working toward the same goal (or at least saying the same thing).

OMG! Anti-Tea Partiers are loading their guns with the safeties off and putting them in their cars. Now I need to get a gun and do the same. When I go crazy and shoot people I will blame Purple Warp-Speed Anonymous Coward because he made me so afraid of Anti-Tea Party types I had to arm myself to feel safe.

Double post apology. The page only loaded halfway and froze after the first submit. So reluctantly I pressed submit again knowing I may be making a woeful mistake. =]
