Cops, when busted for criminal activity, get paid vacation time somewhere safely away from the press and their victims, while the force goes about doing everything it can to smear the reputations of the victims and make them appear to be criminals.
I've always said that any institution that lasts more than a decade will attract the attention of those who want to use the reputation it has earned, for nefarious purposes and once infiltrated by criminals will do everything it can to NOT fulfill its mandate and thus remain active eternally.
Any institution that lasts more than thirty years without fulfilling its mandate, was designed from the start to fail and thus remain active eternally.
The age of any institution that has failed to fulfill its mandate is thus the measure of its corruption.
The Institution of Law Enforcement has failed utterly at its purported mandate of preventing crime, and of its side mandate of catching criminals, so its corruption is likely complete.
During the first prohibition, the police were the first to become willing assistants of the mob. Drug Prohibition is far more lucrative and offers far greater reward to cops willing to turn their heads for graft. I assume the institution exists explicitly for the purpose of protecting the rich from the poor now.
I understand that in Canada, they actually have a Doctor's Lawyer Bank, paid for by taxpayers, whose purpose is specifically to prevent the public from ever charging any doctor with malpractice, by, among other things, finding ways to delay court proceedings over and over again until the angry victim-patient dies.
I assume there is something similar in the USA, but I've not read anything about such as yet. Perhaps its a little less "known" than Canada's, which I understand was never meant to become known.
Since the Illness Industry no longer has any desire to cure diseases but rather pretends to treat diseases via poison-based drug concoctions instead (which insures patients never get better and that they always need more and more drugs to combat side effects of the previous drugs), I assume its internal corruption is now as complete as is possible.
For instance, I understand the AMA no longer teaches new doctors about such North American parasites as Round Worm, Ring Worm and Pinworm, so these now go untreated, or should I say misdiagnosed and mis-treated as other disorders.
Perhaps the term "maltreated" would be more realistic.
The only redeeming note I can offer, is that this sort of thing has always been the way society works, and in truth, we the 99%, are indeed slightly ahead of the past eras as far as health is concerned. On the other hand, I think the powers that be are not pleased about that fact and are attempting to reverse it as soon as possible....
I would think that by now, most Americans would have realized that their government no longer considers itself bound by the laws of the land or the rules implied by the Constitution.
When the government regularly bends and breaks and re-interprets the laws of the land, in order to spy on and record the daily activities of the public, it should be obvious to one and all, that such a government is no longer working for the people, or obeying the law or even giving lip service to the Constitution.
When I read something like:
"Deliberately tracking reading material raises 1st Amendment concerns as well."
... I find it almost comical, because the writer still believes that his government and the courts actually considers the constitutional amendments as valid in any way when it pertains to the activities of the government.
Even when the courts do pay minimal homage to the laws and tell the government to stop breaking the law, or stop performing activities that are unconstitutional, the government simply ignores the courts and carries on as if immune to the courts decisions.
When was the last time that the courts in America found an activity performed by the government, to be illegal or unconstitutional, and the government stopped performing that activity immediately, to comply with the law?
Looks like its time for another "Oops! We somehow missed that terorrist" situation again, like the one in Boston.
They'll have to make it a much bigger bomb and kill way more innocent civilians this time though, because the US public was unimpressed with that last one.
Time to put the fear back into JQ Public, and get all those tax-payer funded multi-billion dollar Anti-Terrorism Budgets back online for another decade or three.
Look out US. Your Federal Government Special Ops teams are about to don their "Rag-head Drag" once again and blow up another of your cities, in the name of Allah.
What I always find to be most disturbing about any of these cases of obvious quackery, is that these people, regardless of the number of times they are cited for incompetence, irresponsibility, fraud and deception, just keep right on keeping on without pause, while the system that is supposed to protect citizens from such quacks continuously wrist-slaps them like they were simply slightly disobedient children.
There appears to be some unwritten rule that states it is improper to actually hold a doctor responsible for her/his actions. That doctors are special and should never be punished for their crimes, indeed, that their actions, no matter how heinous, should never be seen as crimes.
Chock another one up for a social system that apparently serves no-one but the top of the food chain. ---
"this is all about bolstering crime-fighting statistics rather than responding to any actual crimes or criminals"
Don't mean to pee on yer party here, but methinks ye might want to take a wee peek at whether or not there may be another "incentive" behind these phony arrests... one that is slightly less apparent, but pretty obvious just the same.
Like perhaps, there's an under-the-table per-head finder's fee being quietly offered to (crooked) cops by the many corporate incarceration firms, in order to increase their occupancy rates at a faster pace. More bodies, more income and all that.
"So, once again, it seems like Holder's real reason to declare "state secrets" had little to do with "national security" and a hell of a lot to do with "DOJ security" in keeping its illegal and unconstitutional practices from further public and judicial scrutiny."
Wow! Never saw that coming!
I mean.... hooda thunk it huh!!!
The Department of Justice, dealing in Injustice and Lying and Covering things up.... why, its enough to make one wonder just who the DOJ is actually working for and for that matter, exactly what their job really is.
Its pretty obvious who they're working against, but its no longer readily apparent what their mandate actually is.
Too bad there's no such thing as a Tax Strike.
You know, the kinda strike where everyone just withholds their taxes until such time as they get a legally binding assurance from the Most Transparent Administration In American History that no taxpayer's money will be used to fund such agency corruption in future.
That'd really piss off the greedy bastards.
Sigh. Oh well, like Justice In America, a Tax Strike is a nice Fantasy to imagine.
The 4 phony terrorist plots that were not set up by the FBI, were in fact, set up by the CIA. The CIA uses real bombs and real weapons and lets their patsies carry out real assaults. After all, you have to have a few "terrorist" attacks succeed, for effect.
You see, there really are no terrorists, just American and British Special Ops personnel in "raghead drag", blowing shit up to keep the lucrative tax-draining sham alive.
Aside form cancer, Terrorism is the best money maker ever invented, and is absolutely necessary to the process of finding ways and means of redistributing the wealth produced by Americans and Brits - from the citizens to the rulers.
Ask the powers that be just how much money they divert towards anti-terrorism, then double it to include the secret budgets of the NSA, FBI, CIA and HSA and then double that again to include the Brits, then close your mouth.... before the flies get in.
The last thing a fascist regime wants is a healthy public with time and money on their hands. Sick, frightened and poor enough to have no spare time or hobbies beyond booze and TV, now that's the ticket.
Normally, to eliminate unwanted civilians, they'd just start a war somewhere, but cheap nukes and cheaper bio-weapons have pretty much ended that easy route, so now its necessary to feed your peasants sucrose, penetrating oil and curdled milk, if you want them to be immune-system compromised and susceptible to the diseases that will soon be creating the next international crisis.
You really cannot blame the Agents for the directives they carry out though. After all they are just employees, feeding their families and following the orders that pay the rent, while fervently praying that they're on the winning side.
It is those who give the orders that you need to focus on, not their soldiers and assassins. ---
"Ultimately, this ruling can arguably apply to the millions -- and eventually billions -- of physical objects that are being connected at an increasing clip to the Internet of Things."
Well then, the ruling will simply have to be reversed as soon as the NSA can get enough dirt on those who are in charge of reversing such things.
At the very least, it will need to be "amended" enough to allow a loophole or two.
True, but sadly, fascism is nothing more than the result of the addiction to the accumulation of great wealth.
Every ruin of a civilization on earth went through the very same entropic process. The ancient families will always paint the historical demise of any civilization as the result of war, but it was always they and their addiction to wealth as power, that began the process that brought it down.
The process is extremely simple. Wealth gets accumulated through criminal acts by a few very greedy, opportunistic and self-serving individuals who naturally gravitate towards each other and form a group. Since the beginning of civilization, there have always been a few families that lead this process and have never admitted their culpability for the resulting collapse. It is a lesson they can never learn.
As a group, they can accomplish things that would be extremely difficult individually.
As the group grows, the ability to manipulate the processes of civilization itself gets easier until one day when they can start to re-write the very laws themselves through paid surrogates that appear to be "working for the people", known as statesmen, politicians, lawyers, priests, etc..
The first laws that get rewritten are those that were put in place to prevent monopolies, racketeering, and other forms of illicit profiteering by the wealthy at the expense of the poor. Later, laws that allow others to climb out of poverty are eliminated to prevent unwanted competition created through desperation and necessity among the poor.
Soon, the laws of the land become the literal basis for the business model used to dismantle a civilization.
Once the new laws are in place to promote these ancient "business practices", the end of that civilization is guaranteed, because the wealthy will at that time subjugate any form of public information to supress the awareness of the things they are doing and to disseminate "news" that keeps the public thinking the problems are external and being fought by the powers that be.
The majority of the misinformed public will thereafter actually support the ongoing demise of their nation because one of the beliefs the wealthy will instill in their minds through education, games, entertainment and religion, is that they too can become wealthy and join their betters, through diligent hard work and determination.
Of course, absolutely nothing could be farther from the truth.
The wealthy are of course, far too busy stealing everything that is not nailed down to notice that they are actually dismantling the very machine that created their ability to turn one dollar into three dollars repeatedly. They are eating their cash cow, and never notice this until after it is dead.
Drunk on power, they eventually find ways to strangle the last few dollars out of the poor and in the case of modern civilizations, the middle class who will replace the poor, until the only place left to steal from is each other.
At this point the Rulers usually employ the starving masses as now eager armies to wage war with, against each other, over the dregs, and in no time at all, the civilization is just another smoking ruin dotting the plains of earth.
What is truly sad though, is that even made aware of the result of the addiction to wealth and its consequences, humanity cannot free itself of the dream of wealth as power.
As each civilization falls to fascism and becomes dust, the survivors immediately plan out the erection of a new civilization dedicated to the accumulation of wealth as power, once again, led by the same families that have always been accustomed to life at the head of the food chain.
Sadder still is the simple fact that even should the ancient families all die off tomorrow, the rest of us will be all too willing and eager to take their place and insure the cycle continues.
We now return you to your regularly scheduled diet of sour milk, sucrose and penetrating oil...
Actually, all those folks are against their country being sued by US and other foreign corporations for disallowing those corporations to profit in any way they see fit inside their country, and/or letting those corporations force the rewrite of that country's laws to allow those corporations to profit in a fashion that would otherwise be illegal in that country.
Because their jobs are protected under the War Measures Act, meaning "You Don't Have A Say In The Matter, And Must Pay Their Wages Until The Federal Government Declares Peace."
According to George Dubya Bush and The Plan For A North American Conquest, that'll be in about 90 years.
The mob wants its best-selling black market product back.
They are extremely pissed that their decades of graft to politicians of all stripes has not insured the continued illegality of their favourite contraband.
The organizations they control, like the Federal Government and the NYPD, has their orders to do their damnest to get the stuff made illegal again by insuring there is always bad press and public consequences for use of cannabis.
The mob hopes that enough bad press and escalated arrests can make the public believe cannabis should go back under prohibition and thus continue to be their number one money maker for another century.
"UN Human Rights Commissioner Says Snowden Shouldn't Face A Trial" - and we agree whole heartedly.
However, the directors and department heads of the NSA, FBI, CIA and Homeland Security for the last decade, should all face a trial for a large number of criminal charges.
However under the modern American Justice System, only the good guys need to fear legal prosecution for their actions, regardless of how many crooks those actions expose.
The law is now primarily there to protect the criminals.
After all, they are the ones that are writing them these days.
Probably true, but you might be quite shocked at how few people actually pay any attention at all to history.
On the other hand, because history is often written by the victor and the victor is very often the bad guy, it takes a special kind of mind to read between the lines and determine the truth from the BS that is often the sole content of some parts of available history.
For those whose only contact with history is from high school education, utter ignorance of reality might be better than what they walk away with, awareness wise.
