See, it's the unauthorised trafficking of dihydrogen monoxide that is aiding and abetting terrorism and must be stopped! These terrorist criminal drug gangs are misusing chemicals that we should be controlling!
When you call people extremely public nasty names, when you restrict their health options based on your own personal moral 'claims', when you force babies to be born into enviornments where they have apparently negative support until they are old enough to be good little worker drones/cannon fodder/stand-your-ground fodder...
Being given something wrongly or fraudulently isn't quite the same as 'stealing' something. And this is hardly a clear-cut case, hence the discussion in the article.

The standard here should work with all forms of media - pictures, moving pictures with sound, and audio. How many songs have been released where the person who claims they were copied didn't notice for years?
In the end, it comes down to "how many bits are copyable" as well as how much of the 'general' expression, both of which are horribly subjective.

At best you could argue the 'legality' of a friend you've lent your car to, lending it to another friend when you hadn't been asked or specifically forbidden it.
Sounds like corporate Capitalism and fascism and... basically totalitarianism. Stop with the "everything I don't like is 'communism'" bullshit!
I'm pretty sure that Pinochet or other quality extreme right-wing South American dictators did much the same thing. Heck, even some churches have been known to do this, on threat of eternal damnation, and/or being burned alive now...
Because a licence could be pulled, or wouldn't necessarily stop the original creator from publishing their own work in absentia of the publisher marketing the product. In the end, the licensor has the balance of power, which is how it should be if this is 'for the benefit of creators'.
There may well be a large market for replicator 'designs', depending on how well they can 'copy' an existing item or not without special coding. Also, they are hardly going to be suddenly rolled out overnight and therefore decimating the supply and retail industries just yet.
