Well here is another question, since when does a Spanish company that has nothing in the US need to obey US laws when they have no real ties to the US. its not like a US company with offices in Spain or a Spain company with offices in the US. its all in Spain.
actually, you sign it to note that you got the ticket which is actually a notice to appear in court. if you do not sign it you are detained until a court date is set (in VT it seems to take 8 months for a "speedy trial"). Signing the ticket doesn't say you are guilty but that you got the ticket so you can't say later "I never got no ticket" yes, if you are caught speeding it is generally difficult to prove yourself innocent. I have done it and I have seen it done. I showed to the court that 4 days after the violation I had my speedometer checked and fixed. i was caught doing 65 in a 55. (I was actually doing 75) and it showed my speedometer was 8.5 MPH off. The case got thrown out. (waiting 8 months for my court date sucked though)
You can't actually copy all the files you like. Even making a backup of items you LEGALLY BOUGHT is against copyright these days.
That is like getting a contract and not getting a certified copy of it. Later, when the building that the contract is stored in, burns down. you have to go through the costs of making a new contract.
I agree with you on this more than Mike. I feel the DDoS is like doing a "sit in" at the mall because you are protesting "Spencers" but the bulk of the people are sitting in the food court at the other end of the mall. Sure you are making a point but you are not making the point you want to get heard by the people you want to hear you.
Sure, they slowed down BoA, and Citi and paypal, but they not only hurt the company but they hurt the by standers as well. The people who count on access to these places to do business. (Think of people who make a living buying and selling on Ebay. They lose money if they can't access paypal or their consumers cant access paypal). You end up making more enemies than friends that way.
People can get second thoughts about killing themselves...much more reliable to have someone else blow the bomb that is attached to someone else, though yes, you would think they would leave it off until they got to the site atleast.
Mine was a tv in the library. I had just come in from recess in 5th grade. We were going to be taking the classes with the teacher that went up. I was so excited and for a while wanted to be a scientist. I can't say this day changed it for me, but when I think back as to why this incident does come to mind.
The government doesn't want to support going into space because people die because we don't fully understand what space is. People would rather wallow in their on little world and don't want to believe there is more to the world than what we walk on. Knowing what is out there will help us survive. Besides I want a phaser gun to shoot aliens with!
it USED to be that an artist had to get a contract or large loans to produce music to distribute. now anyone with a computer can record a decent MP3 and kickstart themselves on youtube or other ways.
We are also not paying the company that takes 99% of the money to put into their pocket and then, the 1% the farmer gets goes to paying off his debt to these companies because you know, that is their right.
Some people don't really know chain of command in government. A hot topic comes up and the head of your department who is coming up for election says "We need to stop this." no matter what proof you give them as to "no this is not the way to go about it and you have been misinformed" they will not take a no for an answer and block all *.txt files from coming into your email system as attachments....but *.exe and *.mov are just fine because there is a business reason for it...gotta get that movie of a cat flying into a ceiling fan....
