I'm baffled at them still having 3g phones in stock. The FCC's mandatory replacement device for voice service customer requirement (why the new 4g phone showed up in the mail) means that selling now would only guarantee having to give a new phone away in the near future
If there are major companies still transitioning from 3g to 4g that had reasonable migration plans in place that were significantly delayed by pandemic related issues and a short delay would allow them to complete their transition I'd be willing to let them have it.
Companies who were either willfully blind, or chose not to do anything in the mistaken assumption that the carriers would continue to delay their legacy network shutdowns indefinitely OTOH are probably screwed unless they can beg a multi-year delay out of regulators. They can go bankrupt and have their customers switch to competent competitors.
I'm all but certain that officially sanctioned troll farms had their access to Twitter whitelisted since they were using it on behalf of the Russian govt.
Of course, the real irony is that along with that article on Fox Business is a video clip of Maria Bartiromo, whining to GETTR CEO Jason Miller, about how terrible existing social media companies are because they "censor" content, and talking about how great it is that TRUTH Social will be different.
It is. Instead of trying to ban lies being spread by the Leopards Eating Peoples Faces party, this one prohibits complaining that your face got eaten by a leopard.
The only gotcha I can see is with regards to DSL. A few years ago one of the major national landline companies (don't remember if Verizon or ATT) was prohibiting the direct transfer of DSL service when a property was sold and immediately scrapping the hardware when the old owner cancelled and thus when the new owner attempted to get service would be told "there are no free circuits in your area, sorry."
Re: Re: If Facebook wanted to discourage cops making fake users.
It being excessive was the point. If it's just Officer Bob the computer guy getting banned probably nothing will happen. Put everyone in the organization at risk and if management doesn't act to protect their own accounts, they'll be facing a revolt from a large chunk of the rank and file individually and (if there is one) a union action as well.
If Facebook wanted to discourage cops making fake users...
They should do what Whatsapp did to NSO Group after they were caught hacking a few years ago; and ban all the personal accounts of employees of any police department caught creating fake accounts to snoop with.
They're clearly demonstrating a sense of pride and accomplishment in the N64 ports; and Youtubers seem to agree even if not to the extent that Redditors did with Star Wars Battlefront II a few years back.
Sadly after they were sold a few years ago Newegg's new management decided to follow the industry standard practice of paying off parasites instead of going nuclear and trying to not just defeat their claim but invalidate the bogus patents as well shutting them down.
It's entirely about air rights, and setting limits on how utterly insane a blob you can get away with claiming them from. The linked CBC article calls it the "39-side zoning lot" without really explaining exactly what that means. This medium article actually shows it, it's a mess of narrow strings going all over the block going "mine" over every patch of space between existing buildings.
It's not just that Liebowitz is an idiot; apparently both people he's employed and is trying to employ as local council are idiots as well. Unlike Liebowitz they both should be intimately familiar with how the local court likes its paperwork to be done and be capable of making sure that it is. That knowledge is one of the reasons to hire local assistance in the first place. (Having someone who is a short drive to the court instead of a long flight is the other one.)
“It doesn’t appear that you’re asking any questions with regards to how an individual is treated who’s in crisis,” he [Police Chief Paul Pazen] said at one point in the interview. “That’s really what we all should be focusing in on.”
Well if you insist on bringing it up, leaving an apparently mentally ill person cuffed on the sidewalk for any length of time with only a towel attempting to protect his dignity doesn't make your people look that good either.
