Re: Smoke, Mirrors and Anonymous Whisper Campaigns - Oh My!
Flynn was not confirmed by the Senate so did not officially have the job and could not officially represent the government of the United States yet. Now if he just called and introduced himself as the incoming National Security Advisor nothing would have come of this, but he started to talk business that he was not authorized to do yet. That is like the CEO hiring the CFO and putting him to work before the board of directors vote to approve the hiring. Yes it would have been rubber stamped but you don't go about doing things out of order.
Technically an embassy is considered under foreign sovereignty. So technically they were listening in on a foreign dignitary on foreign soil that just so happened to get a phone call from an American. I can seen nothing wrong with them listening in. Now if he called his wife and was making dinner plans and they were listening in on that. Now that's a problem.
From what I have read, the cars link up forming an adhoc wireless network between them that allow the cars to talk to each other and act as one unit. The cars do not use the internet at all to interact as well as they use their own protocol to to communicate.
I look at it this way. If you don't want it on the internet don't put it on the internet in the first place. And if you do put it on the internet mark it in a way people knows who put it up there.
If the senators think this info is not harmful then the companies that are helping them should release all the meta data of those senators to the public. If the can have our data then we the people should have their data.
Everyone should do a write in for president for Snowden in the next presidential election. Once elected he can pardon himself and fire everyone at the justice department.
Re: Re: Re: Too many thieves and pirates break ANY business model.
I don't have a problem with the RIAA sending take down notices to have illegal stuff removed. They just don't want to pay for it. They need to hire enough staff to do searches and send the notices out to have it removed. Google is not the one putting the stuff online. They are making it easier for the RIAA to find the stuff to take it down. Google makes it really easy for the RIAA to find the infringing stuff so they can have it taken down. The RIAA should use this tool to help them.
Re: Too many thieves and pirates break ANY business model.
Did you forget the fact that during the 80's and 90's the record labels conspired to fix prices on CD's and basically stole money from people actually paying for their music.
As for myself I only buy used CD's that the record labels get no money from (that they also think is stealing but can do nothing about) or buy from unsigned indie bands that fund their own music and keep every penny over the cost of making the CD. The music I download is stuff I already own but am too lazy to rip myself.
They should block all links to legit sites as well as non legit sites and when the RIAA complains about it simply say we are playing it safe and blocking everything. Now go screw yourself.
I don't think the networks can afford the lose the advertising dollars from markets like New York. Aereo is going into the big markets first markets networks can't lose.
Wouldn't it be cool if Aereo and the cable companies cut a deal to use Aereo's technology and removed the cost of the over the air channels from the bill? Or threaten to use the technology to get a better deal?
I kind of like the shirt but I don't care for the phrase under the second eagle. So I would not be able to ware it around the house as I have 2 small kids who are starting to read and I really don't want them to be picking up on those words yet.
The Script writer can have a field day with this. Picture Stark walking in with a different case. Banner saying new brief case? Stark say yeah that last one was a piece of crap I like (insert product name) better.
I see if Aereo wins this case and offers this service. I can see them selling this tech to the cable giants so that it will again allow them to offer local channels without paying through the nose to the broadcasters. This tech couls very well be used for OTA radio as well.
Congress need to pass something that requires the studios and labels that they have to license their content to whoever whats to distribute their content. Sort of like some of the tech patents.
