According to CDPR they claim that the trademark claim was made due to them using the trademark in their tags, now to me this is a grey area if true because they have indeed used someone's trademark, but on the other hand it's no different to putting in the listing "If you like Cyberpunk 2077 you'll like xyz" really.
Personally I don't see what's wrong with using it in the tags as your unlikely to cause confusion and it's only a way to attract people that maybe interested in CP2077
Re: Second aspect: MERE HOSTS do NOT deserve POWER to CONTROL...
Indeed mere hosts do not deserve power to control what others wish to publish, but they do deserve power to decide what others wish to publish/use/do with their platform.
They can't however stop someone publishing on someone elses hosting platform, or host their own platform and post there.
While your statement is factually correct, the meaning behind your phrasing is wrong in every sense of what you want it to mean thus making your statement wrong.
Only you could make a statement which is actually correct somehow wrong still, congratulations, you are awarded zero points.
If Mr. Musk wants to build Florida tunnels with his own, or investor's money - by all means, cheer him on. Maybe he can deliver another miracle (don't discount a guy who can land two 50 meter tall rockets simultaneously when NASA has never landed even one).
You mean like the DC-X in 1996 which was developed in conjunction with the US Governement and then passed on to NASA who continued development and completed a test flight and landing in 1996: Image of first landing in 1996
[Video of first landing[(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wv9n9Casp1o)
The idea isn't anything new, like 99% of what Musk comes out with.
You know for a fact you won't get an answer, mostly because I am sure I can see the smoke from here of a paradox forming in the attempt to answer them questions without answering them or by deflecting them and attempting to maintain a veneer of smugness and superiority.
We all know the real answered should be No one has any right to post on any platform without the owners permission and following rules of said platform, if you want to see where this leads look at China where if you post things the government doesn't approve or like you suddenly can't buy coffee, get a job, get a loan, buy a house.
I was having the same thoughts myself, I would have thought logically if you paid someone to tattoo you, then you could do whatever you wanted with your body/tattoo afterwards, other than maybe sell the design to another tattoo artist. Even if you do see tattoo places copying other peoples works without issue, how many micky mouse's, Donald Ducks, Etc. Etc. has she tattoo'd on to people and not compensated or sought permission from the rights holders if they want to go down that route.
But we all know how mental the courts can be when it comes to deciding what is right and wrong.
Because Kernel mode is akin to being GOD!, a lot of people (Myself included) are always cautious when systems, services, applications, or games do this without being upfront about it.
Steam doesn't have Kernel level access to your system, Steam is very user focused and privacy focused, Steam offers benefits to their DRM and VAC system which offsets the negatives.
People like Steam as they are open, upfront, and don't expose you to serious risks like this does, Steam may have had a few exploits in the past, but they got patched, and got sorted, but none of them gave the attacker Kernel level access which is like being GOD!
Please correct me if I miss-understood your statement, are you to say that if media wasn't so focused on facts the figures would be lower, how would this be? would this be because they don't have all the facts this meaning the info they would be providing would be misleading and requiring a fact check mark and link?
Or would the media/news be using "Alternative facts" which Kellyanne Conway seemed so keen on pushing, there is no such thing as an alternative fact, an alternative viewpoint yes, or an alternative interpretation yes, but a fact is a fact is a fact and that's fact. (Yes facts can change but then the old fact is nolonger a current fact, not an alternative fact)
As I understand from google'ing and my knowledge, moderation is the process of eliminating or lessening extremes. It is used to ensure normality throughout the medium on which it is being conducted.
So moderation would be the complete removal of something someone posted or revoking of services due to a breach of rules, an opposing viewset, or such.
I honestly don't see how a temporary suspension of services due to fraud verification constitutes moderation, if you try to buy something, and your bank blocks the payment until you verify that it's you, is the bank moderating you or are they just protecting your finances and themselves from fraud? but that's just my understanding of it, I might be wrong but in my world that's how I would see it.
I would disagree that it is moderation, as the material in question and access was only prevented whilst under fraud checks, it's not like someone denied their access to the system due to their beliefs, contents, or some other arbitrary reason.
It's the same as your bank account locking out your bank card due to suspected fraud until you have confirmed everything.
That word, I do not think it means what you think it means?
To quote Inigo Montoya, You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.
Doesn't sound like moderation in the slightest to me, moderation would be someone or something reviewing a posting, video, audio clip and deciding that it is to be removed/blocked due to it's contents.
This on the other hand sounds nothing more than an automatic anti fraud prevention system kicking in when suspicious activity was observed on the account in question, once the issue had been cleared up all services were restored.
All Google was doing (If the claim is true) was nothing more than protecting the user from fraud/losing their account and ensuring that they got paid fairly as I assume they will be made to refund any costs or fee's if it is found to have been done so under fraudulent means
That's what annoys me, I use a forked version of Kodi called OMSC for my media consumption at home, I don't have traditional TV, I stream everything or buy and download it.
I wish for everything to run through my OSMC box purely because it's running on a raspberry Pi and I have it integrate in to my home media system and smart home applications which also run on a Pi,
Can I get Netflix to work without issue, can I buggery, a lot of these bodies and companies should be adopting Kodi and releasing their own addons rather than trying to kill it, they would see a bigger benefit with less of an investment.
