I've been reading all of Techdirt's articles since I discovered the website during my hunt for knowledge of SOPA and PIPA way back in October. I don't comment hardly at all, as I have difficulty compounding my thoughts into a coherent mass, but I do open up the article on Techdirt as opposed to simply reading it on Google Reader. This way I at least can show some respect to the various authors hosted here in terms of page views.
Putting that aside, I won't say that the articles here are wholly unbiased. But every time I try to look at what the MPAA and RIAA write, I can barely stand to read it. Some of their statements are so disconnected from reality and the public opinion it would be enough to make one think they were trying to be funny. And I would laugh, if it weren't for the fact that our sad governments keep bending over for these horribly outdated corporations./div>
I cannot agree more with what you have stated there. I feel the same for Canadian Politics. When it's time for an election of some sort, you see signs everywhere, clearly displaying each parties budget. If we had a set budget for crap like that, then maybe we could finally see some creativity in these signs, instead of whomever can place the biggest sign in the best spots./div>
Or, sadly, doing their job very well. Somehow some people are buying these numbers (mostly incompetence in power), which has given them more freedom to make more garbage numbers. Or something like that./div>
Somehow the first thing I read on Lamar Smith's website is this: "Creating Jobs and the President's Plan
We know what will help create jobs in this country –lifting the burden of regulations that is strangling small businesses."
Isn't that exactly the opposite of what he is trying to do with SOPA and PIPA?/div>
That was great. But really, they get so worked up when anyone who isn't in their tight circle of people who donate money to them tries to stand up for themselves, and call them all sorts of names, but are in absolute denial when the names they call others are thrown right back at them, with evidence! I sincerely hope that the internet can continue to push back after these bills and maybe even remove more idiotic restrictions that have been placed by these legacy players./div>
I as well thought that this was an error, then I glanced at the header and noticed it was black with emphasis on SOPA and decided it was Techdirt's look for the day/div>
