Re: Meh. Not that big of a deal.

I don't get why you're the only person mentionning YouTube Premium. People go around telling you how stupid you are from paying for that but then go all entitled that they shouldn't need to watch ads or should be able to download videos hosted on Google Servers for free.. because they're free courses.. and therefore are evil. Personally, I'm proud to be paying for YT Premium because people I like get their share without me having to watch ads. And now, I have the BEST way to download the content I want on the go.. without having to rip a stream.

    I love gaming on a 3DS

I might just be hold school but I really tried gaming on my phone. I installed a emulators and even used a PS3 controller with a GameKlip. I tried playing a wide range of games without a controller before that. It's cumbersome and it doesn't work really well. Some action games would have a really slight delay that removed the joy from the game completely. Some other games worked well but I somehow abandoned them after a few days. It wasn't as fun. So.. I let go. I decided I would play some native games.

Finished Duet at 100%.. even went as far as completing dailies for 50 days in a row. I played Threes! for a while. I don't play a lot of 3D games because on-screen controls don't work really well. I tried playing Minecraft a bit but.. it just didn't work for me. The controls were not precise at all. I paid for a lot of games. I got ripped off more than once by a stupid game that wouldn't work or would ask me money to revive my character if I didn't want to wait 3 hours.

That's when I decided I had enough. I unpacked my wife 3DS, went to the store and bought a Pokemon game and Bravely Default. In the last two weeks, I've been playing games on my commute, every single day.. without any unpleasant experiences. My phone has more battery life. The controls are more precise. The GAMES! REAL GAMES! Now, my precious time isn't wasted finicking with games anymore. I can actually play.. from the first minute of my commute to home. It doesn't even stop there because even though I have more than 1000 games on Steam, I continue playing my 3DS at home. Because the games are good.

It might be only anecdotal evidence.. and yes.. It does cost more money to play games on a 3DS.. but I do think I got more fun/$ on my 3DS in 2 weeks than from my smartphone since 2011. At the end of the month, I'll be getting the New 3DS XL and I'll give my wife her 3DS back.

    Re: ME Backlash

Ending was for ME3. There was an event around ME2 release where FOX talked about ME relationships, having sex with aliens and all. I don't remember if they included LGBT in that but if I remember well, there was an episode where BiowEAre wasn't sure if they'd include the option in the second game. Now, when ME3 was released, there was a real position by the company to include same-sex relationship.

IMO, it was a marketing push because it was at the same time as the whole gay marriage debate.. but that's just me.

Re: Do not judge too fast

I read she was commenting with threat as well. Personally, if it was really serious, I'm glad they caught her before she did anything stupid.

    Kind of stupid

I don't understand how it can be wrong to name the camp Rivendell. People won't think it's the "real" Rivendell or anything like that. I simply don't understand why it's supposed to be wrong. Isn't all this things inspired from the work? They're not copies, it's just like fan fiction, just like people getting/making cosplay custume. If I was the person with this copyright, I would have sent materials to the summer camp so that they are better equiped to promote my money-making stuff. I would have written about it and show it as a good initiative. That way, the day you decide to release something official, people get aware of it and buy it more often.. and you'll get people regularly asking for rights to make promotionnal items, etc.

    Sad.. and bad marketting.

    Re: Re:

Yep. I have more than 500GB of games waiting for download on my Steam Account. Legal stuff. A game can sometime be up to 15GB.. that can get over your bandwidth cap pretty fast. I can download about 168.75GB per day.. approx. And I have a 90GB bandwidth cap.. PER MONTH.

    Re: Bandwidth caps?

Minutes are easy to calculate yourself. Data is not. It would not stand the test of time though heh.

    Re:

Common sense? Common sense is to be able to get a service worth what you pay for. Getting charged $8 per GB exceeding your cap isn't fair. Getting massive transfer rate but ridiculous bandwidth is also bullshit. I'd pay a lot to get 5Mbit/s and unlimited bandwidth but no.. all I get is a stupid 15Mbit/s and a 90GB cap. If bandwidth really cost anything, I'd be another matter. But right now, there's no one being paid to deliver your Bytes to your computer.
