    Re: Re: 58%

Since they submit dozens (hundreds?) of requests at a time, RICO applies. Just hit them with that *for each IP address they submit*. One such finding by a court and the industry would dry up like the Sahara. (They'd have to forfeit *every penny* they obtained from everyone they tried it on.)

CDA 230 and the people reading it

Remember to whom Hawley's remarks are aimed - not to the courts (the case may go before the courts, but his comments ...) They're aimed at the same people who would rather shoot themselves in both feet by voting for Trump because realizing that voting for Trump is shooting yourself in both feet is "elite", and they're not "elite". (For "elite" read "have figured out how thinking works".)

Hawley's sycophants may drool at what he says, but anyone who can just read CDA 230 (and understand what they're reading) isn't fooled. The only problem is that most of Hawley's "people" aren't among the "elite".

    Re: Not just lying

At least, in the future, Forbert's credibility can be called into question, if not having his testimony thrown out completely since the court has already found him capable of testimony that's not credible. He can still have a career with the police department - in vehicle maintenance, clerical work, anything that won't bear on the guilt or innocence of anyone. (Or he can move to another state, where he can apply to another department and claim that, during his tenure with the department in Mississippi he was doing "this and that".)

But we all know that's not a happening thing - he;ll make more questionable stops and defendants less knowledgeable than Cedric Gordon will be found guilty.
