And here we have a great example of the Cable Monopoly giving special treatment to the Violence Monopoly to ensure that the Violence Monopoly keeps the Cable Monopoly from having to deal with a competitive marketplace.
After a nation hosts the Olympics, the Olympic athletes, TV cameras, and fans leave. The country now has a huge, brand new stadium nobody wants to use, a few ski courses only highly skilled professionals can safely traverse, and all the debt incurred building these unwanted things. These things then proceed to rot.
In NC, it's the breath test that is "implied consent". Several years ago, my grandfather, who had severe emphysema and required oxygen, was convicted for DUI on the grounds that he refused the test, after he was physically unable to exhale enough air for the breath test./div>
I hope that's the case Dave. I would like to believe Ron is as principled as he has claimed for all these years and this is a case of lawyers being lawyers. We shall see how it turns out./div>
It seems to me that Ron Paul had 20+ years to assert his right to the domain RonPaul.com, as prior to 2008 it was unowned and unregistered The current owners found the unowned property, and homesteaded it. They marked it as their own (registered it) and used their labor to improve the property (wrote the website, advertised its services etc.). Now Ron Paul wishes to own the property RonPaul.com. It is a unique item of value to the current owners. They do not wish to part with it to anybody but Mr. Paul, and only under the terms of their 'Liberty Package'. Mr Paul believes the deal offered is unacceptable. He is under no obligation to take the deal offered. He is however, under a moral obligation to not use force to acquire the property. He has chosen to contact the United Nations, a governmental agency of force, to seize the property from the current owners without compensation. That's theft. Ron Paul should be able to recognize it for what is is, being a libertarian and all./div>
There are plenty of whiz kids out there that have a gift far greater than most of us will ever even begin to dream of. They can look at it and instantly know how to fuck it up.
And enough of them will share how it's done that soon everybody will know. Pirate bay proxies all over again, which is just DRM all over again./div>
Sure, you can lock the door to your house to keep crooks out, but only the front door. The back door needs to stay open so the cops can come in and look for crooks./div>
