There was a long story on NPR about cops making it illegal for you to film them. From the Cops side there were two sides more filming would improve their performance. It act professional as if you were always on camera.
The other side was it would make us look bad. You will look bad if you are acting like a jerk and abusing your position.
There have been a number of cases the cop was absolved of charges against them because the video showed how big of a jerk the person the cop was trying to arrest was acting.
My take is if the reason you get warrants from an outside party is the second opinion that stops bad cops. It also stops lazy cops that get the feeling the rules don't apply to them. Most little rules don't apply to them like speeding so that list for some cops gets longer and longer.
On the free speech that only applies to Government and political speech. You are not free to stand in your neighborhood at 2 AM or really any other time and scream at the top of your lungs for hours or scream Fire in a theater.
If you come in my house and I don't care for your conversation I can kick you out. This or any other private site can do the same.
The problem is as one telco exec said the bandwidth demand on the system is going up 50% a year and the revenue is only increasing by 3%.
The internet changed when video streaming became common and cheap to send and receive and store. In the past the internet was e-mail and static web sites now you can watch TV/movies over your internet. You may be paying the same amount based on your speed but you are downloading more and more. If each of your neighbors does the same thing unless the pipe you are on was designed to handle every connection running at top speed at the same time (which is doubtful) then when enough customers using the pipe max out its capacity the ISP has to upgrade or have unhappy customers. The ISP is not bringing in any more revenue but their expenses may be doubling. The customer and content providers have change the game but the the ISP is stuck on revenue based on speed which is connected to usage but not the same thing. So one side of the equation has changed but the ISP cost side is not allowed too.
The reason Firefox is in such wide use is because of the annoying ads on MS IE you could not go to a site without being totally annoyed. At the time my connection was not that fast and it took forever to load many sites.
Let the fool block Firefox users then he loses all the FF users that do not use ad blockers.
The ad industry needs to learn annoying ads runs off more customers then it brings in. Car companies are the worst they make a good ad you like the first few times but after ten times it just annoys you. To make it worse they put it on TV at the lowest rate time and in 1 hour you see it 5 times. I figure if the are that stupid then their product development has the same problems.
I have the gold and the man with the gold makes the rules.
I pay for several sites that ask for a donation and I don't mind some informative ads on a page but annoy me with them and I get a bad taste for your company and refuse to buy anything from you.
