The number of people who know how to torrent music hasn't changed recently, but the price of music on itunes has. So it doesn't make sense to attribute the declining growth to something that has remained basically constant when there has been a huge (30%) increase in the price for legitimate music.
They probably would have. They have great songs and an impressive live show, and they were willing to sign with a major label, something that's not exactly in vogue anymore.
I just served on a jury in Pa. We were allowed to ask basic questions, such as anything that would require a quick check on Wikipedia.
As for the jurors friending each other. We were told not to talk to each other at the start, but then they put 300 of us in a room and the chatter never died down.
That's a shame. Shout Factory is a great company that does a lot of older TV shows and a lot of good comics (I'm slightly biased because they send a lot of stuff to my work for us to review).
But yeah, call out the people who won't license the music. There are few forces more powerful than angry former fans.
The problem with autogenerated pages the pull from AP content is this.
If the script pulls 10 AP stories on healthcare, half of each story will be 50% background information that is in the other 9 stories. Redundancy like that is appreciated in print, not on the Web.
Also, as someone who has access to AP's wire. Their "relevant stories/photos/graphics/video" application is laughable.

No. But it would be nice if a person were checking the boxes next to each story that would attached to any given topic.

And as a listener of obscure, regional bands, I do want to play music I know. Most of the songs I like to play on rock band aren't bad, but I'd never go out of my way to listen to them. Highway Star is as obscure to me as 1-800-ALARM-ME probably is to you.
Remove the content, and what is a library? An empty building. They are entirely dependant on other people's words (to fill their card catalogs and bookshelves).
