We've had AT&T all our lives, and Call Notes for several years. In February, we got a letter informing us that Call Notes will be replaced with "Unified Messaging." Read the 50pp handbook online at https://um.att.com/dchelp/EN/att_um_user_guide.pdf and see if YOU want to deal with that. We are going to tell AT&T that we DON'T.
A simple answering machine won't cost us $10.00 extra per month, doesn't require a 6-digit password or a lengthy setup, and IT WON'T AUDIT OUR MESSAGES. The age of privacy is over, but this is one thing we can control.
