    Encryption isn't enough

NSA thinks what it's doing is OK, but it is all wrong, as these comments overwhelmingly agree. The system is broke, and logic dictates that we take matters into our own hands. Start using encryption, stop using public cloud storage and move everything to a Cloudlocker (www.stoamigo.com) which works the same but stays in your home where they still need a warrant to get it. I'm sure good ol Yankee ingenuity will come up with more inventions like this to protect us from the people supposed to protect us.

SPIES GONE WILD will never stop

NSA thinks what it's doing is OK, but it is all wrong, as these comments overwhelmingly agree. Many acknowledge that they're not going to stop. The system is broke, and logic dictates that we take matters into our own hands. Not to violate the law, but to protect ourselves from invasions of privacy wherever possible.

Another sequel to SPIES GONE WILD

So now the CIA has its own version of SPIES GONE WILD. This "culture of deception" is the antithesis of everything America is supposed to stand for. None of the government employees seem to be very patriotic. They're instead consumed by the desire to know what's going on with everyone everywhere, as if that's a higher calling. Here's news: It isn't.
But it's clear they're not going to stop. We have to take matters into our own hands. Makes ourselves "small" on the Internet. Start using encryption-equipped browsers and stop putting things on Dropbox, iCloud, etc. Stash everything in a Cloudlocker (www.cloudlocker.it) which works just the same but keeps your data at home where they still need a warrant to get it. They'll soon be a bunch of new tools like this coming out to protect us from the people supposed to protect us.

Re: Re: I couldn't say it better, Mike

I'm not a techie, but I was told by the folks at StoAmigo that they can't access the contents unless I give them permission & open the door so they can come in and fix something. Otherwise, they can't see inside.

I couldn't say it better, Mike

Everything you say is right on. But they're NOT going to earn it. They're going to keep doing what they're doing, except they'll do more of it.

So we have to make ourselves as "small" as possible on the Internet. Start encrypting your browser, email and cell phone messages. Then take everything offline and stash it in a CloudLocker (www.cloudlocker.it) which stays in your home but you can still access your data and they need a warrant to get inside. We're going to see more new products like this to help protect us from the people supposed to protect us.

SPIES GONE WILD - NSA is at it again

NSA's is making their own SPIES GONE WILD video to justify their actions. But it doesn't work. Their argument is "Trust us. We're hunting terrorists, so we don't need no stinking 4th Amendment."

Now, it's clear they're going to keep doing it anyway. It's naive to think they're going to stop. So far, the only solution to keep your stuff safe from prying eyes is to get a private cloud, like a Cloudlocker (www.cloudlocker.it) that works like a cloud service but stays at home where they still need a warrant to get it.

"Trust Us" doesn't work (as John Reynolds)

The "trust us" argument doesn't wash. The 4th Amendment was designed to make it hard for government to get personal information on citizens unless they could convince a judge they probable cause of a crime. But NSA says, "We're hunting terrorists, so we don't need no stinking 4th Amendment."
The only real solution is to get a private cloud, like a Cloudlocker (www.cloudlocker.it) that works like a cloud service but stays at home where they still need a warrant to look inside.

SPIES GONE WILD - The Sequel

The news out of NSA just keeps getting worse. This is "SPIES GONE WILD" the sequel. In view of these depressing revelations, we can only do what we little we can do to protect what's left of our privacy.
Encryption won't keep NSA out entirely, but it will make it harder for them to pick us out of the crowd. Decrypting still takes extra time & effort and that little bit of hassle may be enough to keep their noses out of your business.
The same goes for storing stuff on Dropbox, iCloud, etc. Take it down and stash everything in a CloudLocker (www.cloudlocker.it), which works just the same but it's private and stays in your home where they still need a warrant to see inside.

Soon on video: "SPIES GONE WILD"

Inman thinks if NSA stops lying to America, then it's OK to collect private data on US citizens. After all, "We're hunting terrorists. We don't need no stinking 4th Amendment."

This is all about "SPIES GONE WILD." But don't wait for the video. We've got take matters into our own hands to protect what little of our privacy remains. Start using encryption for browsing, text messages and phone calls. Then take everything off DropBox, Instagram, iCloud, etc and stash it all in a Cloudlocker (www.cloudlocker.it) which works just the same but stays in the house where they still need a warrant to get inside.

    Coming soon: "SPIES GONE WILD"

Feinstein & Rogers are clueless. Like everybody else, they're waiting for the video, "SPIES GONE WILD," with NSA spies dressed in black and hi-fiving each other as they crowd around a monitor going gaga watching Lady Gaga on her bedroom laptop webcam. Or Kate Upton. Or Sarah Palin. Or... does it matter? It may even be you.

I'm sorry but The US Patriot Act justification doesn't wash anymore: "We're hunting terrorists. We don't need no stinking 4th Amendment."

A problem that won't go away is that, with data stored in public cloud services, a third party has access to your files and can give them away without your knowledge or permission. Plus they keep backup files forever. So even if you delete your files and close your account, NSA can find them.

The only real solution is to get a private cloud, like a Cloudlocker (www.cloudlocker.it) that works like a cloud service but stays at home where they still need a warrant to look inside.

    Nice try but no cigar

A very interesting proposition. Unfortunately, we wouldn't get too far along before realizing this is insane. Making personal private information more accessible because NSA has it is just plain stupid. The first to exploit it would be scam artists, predators and their ilk.

Let's not make everyone's life an open book. We need to be doing quite the opposite. Make ourselves more invisible to Google, Facebook and the NSA. Use Tails & TOR for browsing, Textcrypt for text messages and Cellcrypt for mobile phone calls. Then, take everything off of Dropbox, Instagram, iCloud, etc, and stash it all in a Cloudlocker (www.cloudlocker.it) which works just the same but stays in the house where they still need a warrant to get inside.

I'll bet we'll see more tools like these as good ol' Yankee ingenuity revs up to give people what they want - to keep private what remains of their private lives.

A Hi-tech Answer to "Spies Gone Wild"

If Miranda wiped his laptop and cell phone clean before he left home, they would have had no excuse to confiscate them - or detain him. But moving everything to a cloud service like Dropbox or Skydrive wouldn't work because that's like putting them out in public, as his partner Greenwald has reported.

There's a new tool that's perfect for travelers with sensitive information. It's called a Cloudlocker (www'cloudlocker.it), a mini-cloud server that keeps all your digital media safe at home but is accessible on any device anywhere. It streams data to mobile devices without caching, so there's no trace left. This is technology fighting back against "Spies Gone Wild." The video is coming soon to a theater near you.

Watch the hit video: "Spies Gone Wild"

Coming soon, the uncensored video, "Spies Gone Wild," with NSA spies dressed in black and hi-fiving each other as they crowd around a monitor going gaga watching Lady Gaga on her bedroom laptop webcam. Or Kate Upton. Or Sarah Palin. Or... does it matter? It may even be you.

I'm sorry but The Patriot Act justification doesn't wash anymore: "We're hunting terrorists. We don't need no stinking 4th Amendment."

As other commenters have said, after 30 years it's not going to stop. We've got to take matters into our own hands.

What a shame that it's come to this. We need to protect us from the people supposed to protect us.
