This is actually the issue that Amazon is having with Tennessee. What is a "nexus"? They want to build a distribution center here, but do not want to collect TN sales taxes. They forced TX to make an agreement on this issue that TX now regrets. Notice that TX and TN do not have state income taxes. I don�t want to hear people from other states saying that "we need an income taxe", this is a States Right.
The internet and its business have been around long enough that the time to start collecting taxes like other retailers should begin now. And don�t tell me that figuring out 50 or 100 tax rates is a pain, use your programming smarts and write that code once and it�s done.
I have no idea if it matters but did eBay not create a Craigslist clone after getting its stock ownership of Craigslist. That seems not very cool to me. What can a public company do about that?

Reading the two opposing requests for summary judgment will give a overview of where the two parties are coming from. The Botter is really just pissed that Blizzard showed up at his house and told him that he was going to be giving them all his money.
This case will go to trail and it will revolve around the issue of whether the coder is liable for the actions of people that use his program to violate the terms of use of WoW. And then how much money he should have to pay to Blizzard based on how much Blizzard was harmed and how much he made.

We just had this happen in Nashville, TN with two election commission computers with our name/address/SSN on them. Yes we are now getting the free credit report but the local paper reports that the person who uses the laptop was told that there was no need to carry the entire SSN; all she really needed was the last four digits. She was also told by Metro IT that the data should be encrypted. She never did any of this because no one could make her.
This turns out to be more of an organizational problem than an IT or Security problem.
I would like to know everyone’s opinion on whether it is possible for the police to determine if the laptops were in fact not accessed.

Perhaps you all have taken his comments the wrong way, or I have. It seems from where I am that there are people in love with the internet and new tech, and there are people who are not. Increasingly this pull between more tech and less tech is causing friction in our society. Instead of dumping on Sir John perhaps you might like to find ways to get him and people like him interested in tech. I guess we could have three different societies in the US; Amish, low tech, and high tech.
Allowing Wendy to use the clip does not allow the NFL lawyer to claim any time to his client. Sending the take down notice let him add 8 hours to his billable time. That’s what this is about.
