This is a great app, I love sending out Cease and Desist letters from my phone. I see my son Jonny not doing his homework, zing... Ceast and Desist order on all non homework related activites.
The economy is killing resteraunts, chain and specialized. People who used to eat at fancy places are now taking it down a notch to eating at TGIF or Applebee's. Those who used to eat out are now packing lunches and frequenting their favorite dinner's not nearly as much.
Yes YELP is helping people decided on what is a good place to eat when people are unfamiliar with it. It is certainly not killing resteraunts... that is unless the establishment wishes to be killed and does poorly, continuously, then people will give bad reviews and business will drop and then no resteraunt.
Good service and food will make a resteraunt, the opposite will not... before yelp, urbanspoon or whatever other tool we all use, resteraunts would die because of bad service and word of mouth./div>
At what store will I be going to shopping an EA marked item and suddenly by the wrong one... a shirt instead of a video game? Yes there are places and products where the name is simply how you refer to the product, Coach purses for example. When refering to the product it's always a coach purse because just labeling it purse doesn't count... or so says my wife. Now I don't say it's an EA game because calling it just 'game' would suddenly change how it is referred to. EA sells video games for around the same price as other video game companies. However when you talk Coach vs. Mossimo were talking a couple of hundred bucks in price difference.
In the end, saying that confusion is the source why one logo should never have any amount of similarity to another is simply saying 'i can't trust consumers to by my product based off of the logo alone'... thanks for the trust... i'll go buy somebody elses product not because of the log but because of the product./div>
The USPS went wrong all those years ago when email started taking over as a main line communication. When e-mail servers started popping up all over the place, Juno, Hotmail, etc. Back then somebody should have had the smarts to get the USPS online and make it a e-mail system. That way it would have opened the door for familiarity with the USPS and kept them in the loop of mail delivery, both electronic and paper. I don't know how many times I've heard complaints about how email is undercutting the USPS, well stop bitching and do something about it.
Now... it's to little to late.... goodbye USPS/div>
I still regularly and excessivly speed on the way to and from work every day and average less than 1 ticket a year... I don't think they hired enough to even maintain safe roads let alone start a 'police state' in this country.
The nationwide average ratio of police officers to citizens is still around 300 to 1... I think we are ok/div>
They may be the 'definition' of the current stock market performance... but I don't trust them (DOW, DJIA, S&P, NASDAQ and any other index). Especially when it comes to the freaking out that everybody does about their 401(k)s.
That is why you need to be a little more attentive to the 401(k) process and how it works. Honestly I think it is a bad idea from the beginning, pensions are better. However pensions are dying and 401(k)s are now for everybody. But to many people don't understand them or the power they hold for their future.... A little bit of education and a little less trust in the indexes would keep people from having a heart attack every time the market dips over 300pts./div>
In other words the Police in LB want to be able to seize any form of media capture when it includes them doing there job because of all the attention to Cops vs people with cameras. This is there lame attempt to open the door to the future where police have to much power.../div>
There is no freedom of speech violation, by shutting down the cell phone coverage they did not stop the potential protest from happening. This was NOT a police rush on a peaceful protest. If I there was a protest in the middle of Nevada where there is no coverage, would the protesters be able to file suit because of lack of coverage?
Protesting in this country is legel as long as it is peaceful. Protesting has happened many times before cell phones were ever invented, taking away the use of cell phones does not take away the ability to protest.
However there is a potential of a FCC fine for disabling communication. Because of the use of cell phones for emergency use, there could be a case. Local California or San Fran law may even have something to say about disrupting a communication protocol.....
Exactly because you are always fighting the evil terrorists no matter what side you are on. Plus it's a team development game too. It also teaches you some of the basics of being a good soldier not being a 'violent video game murderer'./div>
Windows is not really a choice these days, nor was it when Microsoft had to go through anti-trust cases. Google is a choice, the internet currently has and did have a lot of search engines. The reason Google is popular is because it works and offers more then the rest.
So no Google shouldn't have to go through the anti-trust bs because it's a choice to use them. Microsoft did because 70% of computers sold at that time had Windows on them. Not leaving many of us a choice.
Google is awesome, stop bitching about their awesomeness.
The fact that cases like this make it into our court system scare the crap out of me. Thank God for the appeals court otherwise we'd all be screwed when an idiotic complainent and an unwise judge meet the same court room./div>
"He told the SFPD and DEA agents who raided his place that they were breaking the law, and they 'laughed at' him."
This is what is wrong with the system. They believe that by being part of the law that they are above it or separated from it. That the laws they are enforcing are completely infallible and just. That because I'm a cop or a judge anything and everything I say must be adhered to "or else"./div>
People say "I'm going to kill you" all the time behind peoples backs and to their face too... yet they don't ever do it. Would somebody be arrested for saying that in Muskegon County? Cause that's what this sounds like according to the arrest of Evan.
He never said those words to the kids, the video makes it look like it but you can make a video or photos say or do just about anything. What if I release a video of me killing somebody that I actually didn't kill?/div>
I work in a 3 story, 2 basement building and frequently use the stairs over the elevators. Most often people in our building are only traveling 1 or 2 floors and use the elevator to do so... for shame! I have proven to people that the stairs are faster just because waiting for the elevator to show up can take to much time.
I can understand the elderly, the bad knees from football, or carrying stuff.... but if your empty handed... TAKE THE STAIRS!/div>
Humanity has always progressed forward, sometimes in leaps and bounds other times at a snails pace. But always forward! Forward thinking.. progression.. reasoning..
When flying cars arrive don't you expect to see the decline of the automobile, paved roads...
When teleportation is a reality will not the airline industry dissapear?
With the advent of lighter cars, better mpg, more creature comforts did not the cars of yesterday become scrap to the common commuter?
Who here still uses a STARtac cellphone? Why not? Because we have Blackberries, iPhones, Droids, Evo's etc. We let go of the past, the outdated.
Have we not always sought out newer TV's, computers, cars, cellphones, houses, etc ... BIGGER BETTER FASTER! The next generation of anything comes out and we want it. Then why are we even thinking about letting these aged burdens weight us down?
What if I create a new and blossoming industry call "fiddle-faddle". We create things, wonderful things. But soon trouble hits and the industry is falling... down ... down .. down. Save us! We create wonderful things! Save our industry!
WHY SHOULD WE? You failed to provide adiquitly, effectivly, with cost affordability. You can not keep up and must be cut off for the better.
If a leg can not be saved, it is infected and useless, does a doctor not amputate it? Or does he spend 5x the amount of time, medicine, money and surgery trying to fix it. There are wonderful advances in prostetics.. a replacement. The leg dies off and is replaced with something newer and better.
It's for security purposes...encryption, location scrambling, etc. Having an electronic device with any form of wireless capabilities is like having a homing becon with you. All you need to do is know what device you are looking for and you can find it...
Don't you watch NCIS man? Probie/Tim does it all the time/div>

so unfortunate

Who do they think they are? Really?
You are enforcers of the law... YOU ARE NOT ABOVE THE LAW!/div>
