I already want to do this. I'd like to combine recent technologies (White Spaces, Fiber, etc) and form a national ISP that actually gives a crap about their customers.
Excellent, IN THE U.S., customer service, actual knowledgeable tech support staff, guaranteed speeds that the customer pays for, up-to-date equipment, etc.
Of course, investors who want to invest in this in the LONG run, not the short termers who want their returns in a few weeks./div>
I'd just spam the crap out of 'em until their email server crashed and spewed its' guts.
I wonder what would happen if you sent them every page of the law books as a separate email with the attachment being a 6400x6400dpi RAW scan. *evil grin*/div>
Why can't they do a wireless sync at school with a time limit on the content?
Not that hard, people. Just get near the school so the device can pick up the WiFi signal and have it update itself with the new information.
If you're scared if the content might leak out to the Internet, utilize the TPM chip inside some computers to secure the information to that particular system.
..and if it's a digital textbook and you are attending school, it should update itself without issues. I know most tablets and e-readers have digital serial numbers built into the hardware and/or software. Just have the encryption certificates expire every Monday (or whenever) and renew.
People are making this more complicated than it has to be./div>
..oh.. Don't forget Seagate, WD, Samsung, Hitachi, and other HDD manufacturers that store pirated content..
..and Intel, AMD, and other processor companies that run the computers that store pirated content.
Oh hell, the CD/DVD Drive manufacturers too.. These devices are used to copy the CD to the computers' HDD.
You know what, let's just sue Dell, HP, Lenovo, and any other computer manufacturer because they're selling tools (computers) to pirate their material./div>
I say, screw the RIAA/MPAA. I'm sick of them turning the U.S. into China where everyone is presumed guilty and everything must be monitored and filtered appropriately.. according to them./div>
Good thing Hollywood doesn't own the massive backbones the world has. If it did, the Internet that we now know it would cease to exist due to "the possibility of inducing copyright infringement".
Ugh.. I'm soo damn sick of this "inducing" crap that I could puke. Just like the following:
Buying a car can induce global warming
Eating can induce me having to use the toilet
Exercise can induce sweating and exhaustion
The MPAA/RIAA is inducing me to kill several people due to the movie/music telling me to./div>

*glances at his Panasonic AG-1970 and AG-DS850*
Hey, what about capture cards? I know there's an HDMI capture card now. If not, just get a Component or S-Video capture card./div>
