Drone strikes make the US and anyone that supports them in this venture no better than people they claim to be exterminating. There will always be a justification for this sort of behavior as there will always be a justification for state sponsored torture but after the 2nd world war and also after the inhumane and degrading way States were run in the cold war era with the Stazi, secret police and all it entailed we have come to this. As a British citizen I am ashamed, my country supports this without batting an eyelid my Father survived internment in a Russian Goulag camp to fight in the war for freedom. Everyone has the right to have a fair trail and no person or nation deserves drone bombings we are not at war, there is no war on terror what we are doing is seeding terror and anyone involved in this despicable act deserves prosecuting for murder./div>
Whats at issue is the policies that are being pushed by the US and to a smaller extent the EU are driven by lobbyists from large companies who wish to keep the door closed as long as possible. Intellectual property is only deemed as property by laws promoted & crafted in a lot of cases by very powerful and established companies and have no bearing on what is good for society and the public. Policies and law should be drafted for the good of everyone not to line the pockets of a few large corporations. I'm all for people getting rewarded for innovation but when you class innovation as swiping your finger across a screen then frankly the whole system is completely discredited. When your childrens children don't have access to the Beatles music because its locked away for Life + 70 then the whole system is discredited. I've a suggestion why don't we drop patents and IP tomorrow and move forward on the basis that you had your chance but because you got really really greedy and selfish you'll loose it all. As far as I'm concerned the system is unfixable so lets just do away with it./div>
The guy is in a predicament as of now he is in Russia if he wants to stay out of the clutches of the NSA then he has to be nice to his current benefactors so its likely this is purely political capital and the questions would have been prepared. It also feels like were getting nowhere with this even though many agencies are clearly breaking the law in most peoples eyes and that mass surveillance smells like the Stazi in disguise there ramping spying on everyone to new levels and trying to get everything they want authorized under the terror banner./div>
Our legislators need educating and need to stop bending over every time one of the Media companies tells them to
The ideas they put forward just don't make sense to 95% of the public, like why am I committing a crime lending the latest CD to my mate to rip for his Ipod or why am I committing a crime because I format shift a movie onto my pad.
The content industries have fought tooth and nail to extend copyright and block any sensible fair use. We are how many years past Napster and they still have their collective heads stuck in the timewarp of the 90's./div>

State Terrorism

Re: development to what, exactly?
Probably asked to ask the question

Education is the answer
