Where did you get the 'retirement plan' info?
It's entirely possible that since this happened, people assume that she was a part of it and have stopped doing business with her, which could result in the closing of her shop.
Although the whole thing sounds fishy, I don't see any evidence to indicate that she is a party to any crime and that there is any indication of a retirement plan of any kind.
It's speculation like this that can lead to the ruining of an innocent person's life.
Of course, if she is guilty, I'll be the first one to volunteer to hide the key after she's been locked up.
