Pornographers' Plan To Stop Online Kiddie Porn

from the a-good-housekeeping-seal? dept

It seems that "regular" pornographers are trying their best to get rid of child pornographers because they believe that the child pornographers give the whole industry a bad reputation. However, the latest proposal by the porn industry is unlikely to do very much. The plan is to create a "good housekeeping"-type seal of approval that pornographers can put on their website to show that the site has been reviewed and does not have any child porn. Now, assuming that child pornographers are not the most ethical bunch (not a very big stretch, I imagine), what is going to stop them from just swiping a copy of the seal and putting it on their own sites? This doesn't seem like the most effective plan. Though, it would be amusing to be the person in charge of hiring people to be the "analysts" to review porn sites in order to give them that seal of approval. What sort of qualifications would you need?

    heh

Yeah, just like the "HTML Writer's Guild" logo.

Remember that? The absolute WORST websites on Earth were coveting that logo.

It's a nice thought, but.. *shrug*
