While over here in the US, Speakeasy has been getting a ton of press for their decision to let customers sell their own broadband connections to their neighbors, it appears that another company over in the UK has been working on similar plans - that have been held back by old laws. However, new legislation is about to change the rules, and MyZones is going to start offering a similar plan to let end-users sell their WiFi access to their neighbors. Hopefully the bigger ISPs will see this trend and realize that they, too, should be offering something similar, rather than threatening to sue people who dare to leave their access points open.
