Techdirt Greenhouse Registration Open: Join Us For Our Next Idea Workshop
from the it's-fun-for-the-brain dept
As mentioned, our next Techdirt Greenhouse event will be taking place on Saturday, June 10th in Sunnyvale, California. We've now opened up registration, with discount pricing through the end of May. If you're not familiar with the event, it's an "idea workshop" where we have a variety of short (five-minute) presentations that are designed to bring out issues for discussion. Attendees are then split up into small breakout groups, where everyone gets to meet lots of new people while discussing interesting and challenging ideas. You can read what people said about the first event back in March to get a sense of what happens at these events. We're also happy to add a new sponsor this time, top-tier venture capital firm Accel to go with returning sponsors Topix.net and PlugAndPlayRealEstate.com. Seating is limited, so register soon.Thank you for reading this Techdirt post. With so many things competing for everyone’s attention these days, we really appreciate you giving us your time. We work hard every day to put quality content out there for our community.
Techdirt is one of the few remaining truly independent media outlets. We do not have a giant corporation behind us, and we rely heavily on our community to support us, in an age when advertisers are increasingly uninterested in sponsoring small, independent sites — especially a site like ours that is unwilling to pull punches in its reporting and analysis.
While other websites have resorted to paywalls, registration requirements, and increasingly annoying/intrusive advertising, we have always kept Techdirt open and available to anyone. But in order to continue doing so, we need your support. We offer a variety of ways for our readers to support us, from direct donations to special subscriptions and cool merchandise — and every little bit helps. Thank you.

Re: Interesting....
We do have some people who are traveling to California for the event. Though, your question could apply to any event. It has to be somewhere...
However, we are also looking at ways to bring the event to other locations in the future, but there are benefits to having it here in CA as well.
