DailyDirt: Put The Fun In Crowdfunding

from the urls-we-dig-up dept

More and more crowdfunded projects are popping up all the time. We've mentioned a few recently, like the video game that collected over $3 million from tens of thousands of folks who essentially pre-ordered the game before it was even created. Here are just a few more cool Kickstarter projects that look interesting. By the way, StumbleUpon can recommend some good Techdirt articles, too.

Thank you for reading this Techdirt post. With so many things competing for everyone’s attention these days, we really appreciate you giving us your time. We work hard every day to put quality content out there for our community.

Techdirt is one of the few remaining truly independent media outlets. We do not have a giant corporation behind us, and we rely heavily on our community to support us, in an age when advertisers are increasingly uninterested in sponsoring small, independent sites — especially a site like ours that is unwilling to pull punches in its reporting and analysis.

While other websites have resorted to paywalls, registration requirements, and increasingly annoying/intrusive advertising, we have always kept Techdirt open and available to anyone. But in order to continue doing so, we need your support. We offer a variety of ways for our readers to support us, from direct donations to special subscriptions and cool merchandise — and every little bit helps. Thank you.

how did anything on the web get to be so popular? luck of the draw. also probably having been around since before anyone thought it was a good idea, and doing a way better job at it than anyone had a right to expect for such a nascent phenomenon.

Thanks to whoever Flattr'd this post!

I think it's interesting that this post on crowdfunding gets a Flattr vote.

Should we post more crowdfunding-related DailyDirts...?

    Thanks to our anonymous benefactor!
