Does it also reflect the phone's own generated heat back in on itself like a space blanket? And how does being mostly encased in a conductor shell impact the phone's radio-based operations?

Haha I have something just like this in my winter hiking kit to prevent food and my vhf radio from freezing. I think I overpaid at the time at $5 for a pack of three at the local Scout Shop.
