Techdirt Podcast Episode 312: Regulating The Internet
from the possibilities-and-pitfalls dept
We've got another cross-post this week: Mike was recently a guest on the new Internet of Humans podcast by Jillian York and Konstantinos Komaitis, for a wide-ranging discussion about internet regulation issues today and where they might be headed. You can listen to the entire conversation on this week's episode.

Thank you for reading this Techdirt post. With so many things competing for everyone’s attention these days, we really appreciate you giving us your time. We work hard every day to put quality content out there for our community.
Techdirt is one of the few remaining truly independent media outlets. We do not have a giant corporation behind us, and we rely heavily on our community to support us, in an age when advertisers are increasingly uninterested in sponsoring small, independent sites — especially a site like ours that is unwilling to pull punches in its reporting and analysis.
While other websites have resorted to paywalls, registration requirements, and increasingly annoying/intrusive advertising, we have always kept Techdirt open and available to anyone. But in order to continue doing so, we need your support. We offer a variety of ways for our readers to support us, from direct donations to special subscriptions and cool merchandise — and every little bit helps. Thank you.

just wait a while longer and the entertainment industries, Hollywood, MPAA, RIA and any other one that belongs and thinks that people cannot make do without them will be taking control and doing the regulating! lets face it, after making pricks of themselves and ignoring the internet until it was obvious what mistake they had made, they have done everything possible, legal and illegal to stop the people using the internet in the way it was intended, to do whatever, to find whatever and buy/sell whatever. on an almost daily basis we learn of more sites closed down and it isn't just in the USA, it is worldwide! and dont forget, once they have the control and we have lost it, there's no way in hell that we'll get it back!
