School lunches are often joked about having "mystery meat" or other unsavory, unpalatable menu items. Sure, there have been some positive steps to add more fruits and vegetables, but ketchup was almost counted as a vegetable, too. Maybe it's time to save the milk money and pack your kids' lunches.- A study of about 1,000 students shows that kids are being rushed to finish their lunches, and when they are, more of the food is wasted. More class time sometimes means less lunch time, and waiting in line to buy a lunch also eats into the time that kids could be actually eating their food. [url]
