I have to say, many of these Pokemon players didn't seem to learn how to function in society or that just goes all out the window because of a dumb game. I mean really, trespassing, let alone knocking on strangers door just to get one? What's the end result of getting a Pokemon that makes any of this worth it?
I loaded up the game, took a quick look and thought, this is a game? I haven't touched it since then. So many other fun games to play. Some people do seem to be out of control over this game. I don't think a lawsuit over it is the solution. To many jump to lawsuit way to quickly.
I haven't watched that last couple of them. I just had better things to do. At this point I really don't care. I don't think I'll be watching it this year either. Maybe I'll do some catching up on Netflix.
I see this as so wrong, allowing a computer program to dictate a persons life, freedom, based on??? There should be real people making these judgments, not a software program, no matter what the case.
Both these people are OLD! They don't hate the tech, they just didn't grow up with it. It wasn't until their later years that all this stuff came out. It's hard to teach a old dog new tricks!!! I deal with this, with my Dad who lives with me in my house. He kind of knows how to use his Mac and iPad and iPhone, but just the most basic things. Has no idea about my Gigabit network when I wired my house for that. Or all my Network stuff. How PLEX works with all my movies. I have Harmony 900 remotes which makes things much simpler with a pretty of a button or he would really be lost. He's on Facebook, but all the other places? No. It's enough to get by. Same goes with my Grandma who is now 90. I've been tying to teach her Windows over the years. Just the most basic things. Repeat a number of times. I have to fix the computer issues a number of times.
My first computer was a Commodore Vic-20 with a tape Drive!!! So I've been growing up with them all my life.
I have to agree. There's no return of a Luddite president. They don't hate tech and want nothing to do with it. They're just OLD and didn't grow up with it. They use it, but skill level is low. Why some people don't understand this? Computers have come a long way in such a short period of time. We're still in the transitional phase of those that grew up when there wasn't Home Personal Computers to those that are playing on a tablet at 3 years old and have been growing up with computers their entire life. Have zero concept that not long ago they didn't exist.
There's so much you can ask a kid these days and they have no idea what you are talking about because they haven't existed for a number of years, which is just starting to show your own age.
I won't buy any IOT devices. I hear a better version with real security is in the works. Problem is, it's not compatible with current stuff. Just throw all stuff you have away, and replace it with the NEW stuff in the future!!!
The security of these things are so weak. Baby Monitors that connect to the internet, the security is a joke!!! Door Locks, Camera's, etc. All these things people can easily gain access to, to get into your house. Spy on what you're doing, etc. No thanks!!!
We're in 2016 now. The Internet is everywhere. Who doesn't know that labels will screw you over? Especially Artists!!! This is why a number of them have their own labels.
The simple fact of the matter is you don't have to sign your life away. You can create your music yourself and put in on itunes and cut out the middle men. If you do sell your soul, don't bitch about what happens to that music down the road. It's no longer yours, it's the labels!!!
Simple fact of the matter is the Artists rarely make anything from Album or song sales anyway. They make their money Touring and selling merchandise.
Once you sell your Art, be it a SONG, PAINTING, STATUE, whatever, it's no longer yours. I can have my dog crap on it. Hang it in the bathroom. Burn it. What you say no longer matters and I could care less.
John Oliver finally got a topic completely WRONG!!! How that happened?
Re: Dont break the law if you dont wanna get blowed up
More like don't shoot and kill a bunch of police officers!!! I get there are bad police, must most in general are good people wanting to help the community. The only safe way to end it was blowing him up remotely. He forfeited his life shooting a killing a bunch of police. We sure don't need a expensive court case for this, let alone more police dying trying to catch him alive. It's not worth it. He was clearly guilty!!!
So this Voluntary systems turned into Mandatory!!! How did that happen? Oh wait, it's Government in action. Why so many people think when the Government creates something that's Voluntary that it'll stay that way, is beyond me.
What I don't get is this Whole Rebroadcasting fee crap!!! You are helping the broadcast channels reach more people and/or get a better picture in some cases. You are in fact doing them a favor. They already get paid with the Commercials they advertise. Remember this is stuff you can get for FREE with a Antenna!!! Plus in general a better picture. Yet they want to rape Cable and satellite company's to re-transmit something people can pick up for FREE. It's kind of card to be on the cable and satellite company's side on this.
The net effect is everyone bill goes up more and more people cut the cord, and they lose subscribers. I had my $50 a year Internet only service from Comcast. I was going to call them up and see about dropping it to 50Mbps which is fast enough for my use. After my year expired. It was cheaper to get their 75Mbps service, Plus either HBO or Showtime, a free cheapo cable box I still don't have hooked up, along with some basic channels and their StreamPix service or whatever it's called I've never used and now I'm paying like $45 a month. Really, Comcast is giving me free HBO, which is how I'm looking at it. I just use the HBOGo now app. The only lame thing is Comcast won't allow HBOGo on the Tivo!!! Works on my other devices though like AppleTV and ROKU. This is there way to try to keep people paying for TV service, I just could really care less.
The Antenna and Netflix is most of my watching. I don't even have time to watch much HBO but I get it. It was cheaper to get this bundle then Internet Only!!! I'm good for another year, and next year I'll see what new deal I can get to keep my cost at $50 a month or less.
The whole bundle thing really needs to go. As far as I'm concerned, have the Cable and Satellite company's charge by Channel. In fact, set the prices based on what they have to pay for them. So you would get freebies if you wanted like HSN. Maybe ESPN is $15, other channels could be 50 cents, $1, $5, maybe free because they want people to get it and watch the channel. They are making their money on commercials and the more viewers, the more money.
So if the Tribune (I've never heard of) want some huge increase, let them have it. Charge per user that wants it. If it goes up $10 for that channel, few people will get it, let alone pay for it. Some of these company's that have a number of channels, maybe they can bundle their channels for a lower cost if you got them all. Again, A-La-Cart!!!
One of the things that pissed me off was all these expensive sports channels I had to pay for that I NEVER watched. I don't care about ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN3, ESPNNews, Fox Sports, and all the others. Let the people that love sports pay for it. Why am I subsidizing it? There's enough sports on the broadcast channels for my needs.
As these prices keep being jacked up, more people will cut the cord and everyone, the cable/Satellite company's lose and the content providers. I can't get their channel with a antenna. Oh well. What I don't see I can't miss!!! They disappear!!! Who wins in the end?
The only thing I hate, is having to see these banners on Broadcast channels I pick up with my Antenna. I don't feel sorry for CBS or whoever that cuts the feed. At some point you have to play hardball and not cave, because look, one does it and request a huge fee increase and there's everyone else with their hands out also wanting a huge fee increase. I got tired of that game and CUT THE CORD, at least the best that I could with the cheapest option that made sense. The cable box they shipped me is still in that box! I'd have to run a new cable just to use it and I just could care less. My bill is a little cheaper and my Internet speed seems just as fast as always and I got a bonus of HBO thrown in.
Hey if you can keep people on your Box by allowing Netflix on it, people will end up paying the monthly box rental fee forever instead of getting a ROKU, Chromecast, AppleTV, Amazon Fire, etc. Then finding out, maybe they don't need that Comcast box. Maybe they just don't need Comcast TV service. This is really just another way to keep people locked in.
So really, the Dish Hopper is worthless unless you wait 7 days later? That's just dumb. I'll stick with my TIVO with it's commercial skip that works minutes after the program airs. Being a Cable Cutter, and getting my TV from the Antenna, the TIVO works great for my needs. I rarely see any commercials.
Knight Rider covered this very topic. The whole KITT and KARR episodes. Karr was all about self preservation and of course he was Evil. They changed that programming when they built Kitt. Those were self driving cars. (Well not really) but you get the point.
Really though, with everyone having self driving cars, the roads should be safer as long as you keep humans out of the mix throwing a wrench into things.
I say let things continue as they are. I cut the cord, well as best as I could. I'm not paying for Cable TV or a Cable box, though I just got on a new deal from Comcast where I only wanted Internet service, but it was cheaper to get some basic channels and got this cheap cable box where I don't pay anything for, plus a pick of either HBO or Showtime, I went HBO. They're pretty much just giving me HBO for free. This is how hard they're trying to keep people paying for TV service.
So I have this cable box I can't even use unless I run wiring for it, which I have no interest in doing as I didn't want it. There's no rental fee on it so I don't care. I get my HBO using the HBOGo App on my devices, expect HBOGo on my Tivo doesn't work as Comcast won't allow it to work on a TIVO!!! That sucks!!!! But works on my AppleTV and ROKU and other devices just fine.
All the Government stuff is paid for BY THE PEOPLE and anyone should be able to take any pictures and so with as they want with them. It all should be in the Public Domain right off the bat.
Re: Re: Re: The self funded channels are showing this
The Republican's are doing their job!!! It's not the Republican's job to give into everything OBAMA wants!!! By the way, when the Democrats are in control they do the exact SAME THING!!! That I guess is OK for you.
Re: Re: I doubt it is going to be a minor nuisance
I think torrents is up there high on the list. While you hear "The Internet is PORN!" I don't think it's in the top 10, let alone the top 5.
Really, who cares. These so call POOR people have Smartphones to watch PORN in the first place? Really, so called Poor people in this country are not Poor! Look at Poor people in other countries, now THEY'RE Poor!!!
Must be part of the Free Obama Phone plans. So it's really OBAMA that's allowing the homeless to watch porn on their Smartphones with the free Wifi.
