It could easily be both I remember seeing somewhere that after it is placed on hold for so long the senator who has placed the hold has there name released. So what they do is tag team the hold one starts it then drops it before the name is released and the other senator places a hold then lather, rinse and repeat.
"the problem is, you'd have to wonder how she would have known the answer to that without using some sort of research...perhaps because had recently read it in that booklet?"

Re: Re: Doesn't your very article explain WHY Apple should be suing??
You are correct.
"App" is a generic term (abbreviation) that has been used for over 25 years. Originally used in the WARZ market to distinguish between a game and an APPlication. They took a generic term for a generic thing and tried to make it non generic. If they actually called it Apple Store instead of Apple App Store and others tried to call there store the Apple Store and were selling applications in it they might have a case.
"Go back to first principles - *why* is broadcasting prohibited?"
They do not want news stations with cameras sitting in the court room taking up space and distracting people. Think any time that there is a high profile case would it be good to have the four local stations and a national one or two taking up space.
Since I'm the first one I will just have to quote it and say what every one is thinking.
"Symptoms of borderline personality disorder include severe insecurity about relationships, fears of abandonment and constant, needy reassurance-seeking from partners.
Borderline personality disorder usually occurs in women"
They needed a study it find that out?
All seriousness TMS is cool and I'm glad that more is being done with it.
"the lawyers want me to "indemnify" and promise that anything I write won't get them in legal hot water. In other words, all this license really does is create increased liability for me."
There is a quick fix to this problem agree to it and place in the agreement that Techdirt will not post anything that will get them in trouble as long as they review the post before copying in an actively decide on what articles to use.
That way you push the burden back to them, the one who is copying it.
I think the reason why is that if one of the defendants can show that they were not the one infringing (a case they would win being the only one sued) then the case will get dismissed in the favor of the defendants.
Now if that happens I hope that they can have the court and lawyer fees covered by the plaintiff, and if so I hope that each person got a different lawyer. :)
Several cities are apparently tearing down freeways
"This is the city planner's dream: Take out an underused freeway, open up land for new businesses or parks and magically more workers will move back to the city and property values will soar. So far, though, the results have been mixed."
Anyone else see the problem with the above statement? If you remove or reduce the capacity and them have more businesses and traffic added due to the increase in business the streets can reach a point over capacity. Then they will need to build new roads or replace the smaller one that is now in place.
I guess since they are hoping "magically more workers will move back to the city" they hope that magically they will get to work.
It said that "written signals in the air by means of smoke or other visible trails emitted from an aircraft" then just do not have it come from the aircraft but a tow behind smoke machine. :)
If they wast to make it worth my time to pay then they need to have several papers all in one service show relevant new news on the home page. From there they need to allow users to vote on articles and authors of the articles to tailor the publication to the user and cross reference it with what other users preferences. If a user likes business news and two deferent people publish a story on the same thing it will show the more preferred article first based on past selections.
It is a lot like using google reader with a voting aspect.
I agree with you in the respect that I hope the plaintiff loses, but we only agree because you misread who the plaintiff is. The defendants are the "class" and I'm thinking that you thought they were the plaintiff.
"it will be just another reason why there need to be clear rules to stop end users from being able to hide behind ISPs and service providers."
You also have this wrong it shows why there is a need for more rules to protect users information at the ISP level.
Yes but what she does not know is that her corpse love is really a "fabulous queen who wears to much glitter".
It's good that B&B did not have glitter in "Twilight Woods" body lotion or they might have also been sued on the grounds that only there Vampires can sparkle. Watch out gay night clubs who are Vampire friendly YOUR NEXT.

Decaying things release carbon too, so pollution could be a problem but only for a while.
