That. I don't think we will be in that scenario anytime during the next 15 years but automation will slowly chip away more and more jobs. I do think we'll be under much more pressure to discuss universal income or similar ideas to help with the 'automation victims'.
Overall I don't see automation as a problem. The problem is how Govts will deal with the inevitable unemployment. So far the status quo says don't touch on obscenely high profits while taxing the workforce. This will clearly backfire in the future.
One would think messing with the ACLU in terms of freedom of speech is not the wisest move. It is good entertainment for those of us who follow them though :D
I would understand charging people that work all the time with said system a monthly fee to help with the costs and letting your casual wanderer have a free look at, say, 5 to 10 documents. But in any case charging to search through the system? This alone is abusive.
Wtf? Compare apples to apples man. It's a bad idea to keep youth out of politics. We should be teaching them politics at school because politics is the basis for life in society. We wouldn't be failing that hard if we were teaching critical thinking and politics (which require the first as well) in our schools.
Amodei has to run for the Erdogan Awards of Thin Skin!
Anyway, if hypocrisy stopped working today the world would implode. Next time somebody complains that the youth doesn't participate in politics, that they are lazy etc just point them to articles like this. And watch the cognitive dissonance kick in.
How long has it been since they started predicting music death again? Reminds me of gramps who predicted his own death in every Sunday lunch for 15 years before somebody got fed up and said "I wonder why you haven't died in all those years?". Then he stopped doing it. And took another 8 years to finally die.
I'd much like the legacy players actually die, along with copyright as it is today. But at the very least I hope they aren't like gramps heh
"You guys helped make it into a partisan issue and that is where it is going to stay."
Nobody here turned it into a partisan issue, TD has stated (with survey results backing up) that it is bipartisan and has broad support overall. Ajit Pai and bought politicians tried but failed, people still largely agree on NN.
"It sure is funny to see you guys now join my side in hoping the FCC is defeated"
I believe you are the "regulations bad!" neanderthal that regularly takes swings at straw men here so I'll have to pop your bubble: we want 2015 NN regulations back and FCC doing it's part both with oversight and proper punishment when needed under said regulatory framework.
Wikimedia is usually quite diligent in fixing wrong stuff that's brought to their attention, usually before it leaves the volunteers that contribute to the article. Inaccuracies and false content will get properly corrected. Maybe this guy is just angry at the truth and want it Streisand? Er, removed?

Seriously, brains like Ajit Pai's should be studied to understand how they can handle that much cognitive dissonance.

Fill the --- with the correct letters! Tip: there's an h, an i and a t and it's a synonym to feces.

Hmm, dial up has long been replaced by much faster and more reliable connections. Somebody has to provide them with updated info.
