You understand the Civil War was "Civil Disobedience". Where would we be without it?
AC, go back to bed with Daryl cause you both got out on the wrong side of it this morning. Even for you two this is far fetching.
Show me a long lasting (legitimate) company would made a profit in it's first year. in the first 2 year? 3? 4? 5? Anyone who starts a business knows you wont make a profit the first year and very few see a profit the second year. the only companies I saw make any real profit within the first year died out quickly (within 2-3 years) because their business model was set to burn the company out quickly.
now I state this because this is in the terms you are working with. Do I feel creating art is the same as running a business? Not really. To make money off your art, yes a little. I think they are doing it right.
yeah now that every single one they sell from now on is 100% profit. not to mention the fact that their name is spreading and they will obviously have more work and get more recognition as they go.
So does RIAA give you a company car? Just curious.
if anyone knows of import/export laws, isn't there a law about "dumping" goods in most countries? IE no selling for less than in the home country? I seem to remember some law back when I was a business major taking Business law...but I can't remember the exact wording...
According to the article at http://news.cnet.com/8301-1009_3-20025038-83.html?tag=contentMain;contentBody;1n"DataCell said it had been losing revenue since Visa and MasterCard decided to stop processing WikiLeaks' donations."
From what I read I took it as their main source of income comes from the donations Wikileaks gets, though it could be that they are band from handling ANY transactions at all.
actually that is incorrect. Debit or credit, it goes through a verification company. they get their cut for each transaction. The company that takes the card for debit/credit pays the fee. Though technically you pay for the fee if its Debit, just most companies will pay it if you are buying from them.
I do not agree nor disagree with what MC or Visa is doing. The know runner of Wikileaks is charged with "Surprise Sex". he admitted he was avoiding Brittish police because he felt he was not guilty. Evading capture *IS* a crime and he has admitted it (I am looking for the transcript of an interview he had). Not to say this is the driving source behind MC and Visa, however technically they are right. Any money going to WikiLeaks is money going to him.
I personally don't like the man. I feel he only does this to get attention. However, I will add, what he did I feel is morally right. I just don't like his motivation.
I have a patent pending on feet, paws, and other walking/crawling/running implements. I also have one for oxygen and have given it to the church of Scientology. I am sure they will do whats right with it.
I will be forced to steal internet from the open WIFI at the verizon building next door. (I did this once before when my verizon DSL went out for 2 days because some idiot hit a telephone pole outside my house and verizon couldn't be bothered to come out and fix things any sooner.)
Those are the mothership companies as I like to call them. The true creditcard companies are the ones that do the processing. You can have a Visa card from 13 different banks with different rules and restrictions. The Processing companies are the ones that get the majority of the fees to do the processing of those payments for the vendor. (thats putting it in simple terms. It is actually quite abit more complicated than that).
