It is nice they have funds to fight this stupidity,
shame there were no funds to keep the retaining pond of death from threatening citizens
shame there were no funds to make sure building codes were enforced
shame they handed out covid shots based on if the citizens were nice to the Gov or not
shame they spend more time on imaginary problems than solving the issues actively killing citizens on their watch
shame there seems to be no system in place to protect citizens when the leadership loses their damn minds, encourages people to get infected, puts the almighty dollar ahead of human life...
But then it appears we are willing to accept citizens being killed in the name of imaginary rights we can't even explain in any way tethered to reality.

Something something the opposite of progress...
Meanwhile they still haven't managed to fund making sure there are no longer any lead service lines poisoning citizens, but they had a nice show hearing about things to distract people.
Its a well known, to anyone paying attention, failing of humans.
This thing had to have been caused by an outside force & if its new & different it is bad!!
This panders to people who don't want to accept that people have free will & that while it might lure them down the primrose path they decided to walk down it.
If not for X, they never would have done these things...
If not for the toys in happy meals, my child wouldn't be fat.
It appeals on so many levels because it identifies something well outside of anyones control as the cause of all the problems & absolved people of responsibility for their own choices.
Notice how no one has written an OpEd about how Congress should get their own shit in order first about Covid misinformation?
I mean we paid to vaccinate congress people who are STILL to this day trying to downplay it and make statements that will lead to more deaths... but people are screaming that the platforms need to do more to stop the bad information when out leadership can't even reach a consensus on if Covid 19 kills people.

Telling a Q follower they are wrong, no matter your intentions or how nice/mean you do it, only serves to drive them deeper.
You can tell me I am wrong, but I ask you then why did the Patriot Act get reupped & expanded when it has nothing to show for all of the rights we shredded to it so we added a few more.
Because despite reality of it doesn't work, politicians are terrified of someone being able to claim they are soft on terror (while causing much more of it here than outside forces).
That horrible woman Kash Hill wrote about who has spend every waking moment posting horrible accusations about people who she thinks have crossed her the take away that was most telling was the people who read the horrible lies, knew they were lies, but still in the back of their mind thought but what if it was true.
Look at the freakout over the Hunter Biden Laptop.
There literally is nothing there that withstands any scrutiny, from how dude got it to what it allegedly contains, & the thousands of logic leaps that x means y & z!!!
Because they tried to kill this bullshit, they made the bullshit more important.
If it wasn't true they wouldn't try to get rid of it, a simple and stupid thought.
Its fallout from the political battles in this country.
Benghazi was a bad thing, but because they kept it in the news over & over & over people believe that Hillary shot those citizens in the head herself, even though every single slanted report couldn't manage to support that idea.
The flip side is the quick response when oh I dunno someone running for POTUS is in the pocket of foriegn agents he can just claim its all a hit job & no evidence will change minds. We could have a video of Trump getting a suitcase of cash directly from Putin and people would still claim its all fake because Trump said so.
Rarely do people think for themselves, its much easier to pick a pundit with a line of BS you like & let them think for you.
(See also Tucker Carlson. He lies, his employer admitted he lies, in a lawsuit the lawyer said only a freaking moron would believe what he says is true... he still has a major following.)

Gameification gone wrong.
We reward only winning, and this leads to them picking only the slowest easiest pitches (or the ball on a tee) that they can knock out of the park.
There is no reward for actually doing the job well, just meeting the easy metric.
We approved more patents today than yesterday, no one actually cares if its the 150th PB&J Sandwich Patent.
Another part of the system can deal with if its a good patent or not, who cares that it costs the economy & an enormous amount of money to hope that some other portion of the system is more focused on "clearing" cases to get the reward than if the cases are actually reviewed.
The gameifaction is driven by Congress, they like headlines & soundbites and well lets be honest the media loves to tell us about how another terrorist plot was stopped, but not so much how the 'terrorist' had a child's mind & was spoonfed the "crime" by informants we allow to keep breaking the law.
We don't audit the rich, because its hard.
So we squeeze people who don't have much, looking for a flaw in the filing because the tax code is written to keep an entire industry in existence & let the rich get richer. The few million they manage to get is lauded in the media, meanwhile a few more billions ends up in the pockets of a lucky few who laugh that they are getting their way for using a tiny amount of their pocket change to purchase some low priced politicians.
Everyone knows all the cases will be filed in East Texas, its the industry that keeps the town afloat by renting closets for top dollar so the venue becomes correct & the Judges like that the town is going well & hey they ruled really fast so thats another bonus.
We've spent trillion on weapons for war, when was the last time anyone looked at if we really did need 1000 more cost overrun tanks vs allowing a congress person to stay in office by keeping companies open making buggywheels when what we really needed was a new VA system that actually cares if Vets die on their watch.

" so that we can finally close the lid on that dark period of U.S. history. "
I'd laugh but its sort of sad that anyone believes these things have not continued unabated behind the scenes.
None of our heroes are heroes, none of our leaders lead, none of our rights deter them in the least.
Our rights only exist until they might make a corporation unhappy, then they no longer exist.
Anyone got a list of treaties we haven't violated between us and Native American Tribes? Its REALLY short if any haven't been.
We've seen grandmothers become the target for the domestic spying brigade because checks notes they chalked not nice things about a bank on the sidewalks outside the bank.
We've seen people arrested, charged, & taken to court for being at an event, but not for any actions they themselves undertook.
Merely disagreeing with the administration has resulted in lots of subpoenas for information so that wrong think can be punished... yet somehow Jan 6th happened & was a complete shock to the acronym agencies who track every cat picture & dick pic people send but plotting insurrection they missed.
For all of the people screaming conservative, progressive, orignalist, etc. all would have been executed by the framers for what they have done to the republic.
Y'all have become every single thing you've called out in other nations and other leaders for doing.
The group that wasted billions trying to turn Benghazi into something suddenly are worried that finding out how an insurrection that penetrated the Capitol while Congress was in session & armed terrorists were coming for some of their members would just be mean.
Somehow the FBI can find someone willing to buy a $20 apple gift card to help terrorists overseas, but can't figure out that the money going to some officials results in a vote favorable to those "donating" to them?
There is corruption and decay that is on display everywhere in the nation, and the refusal to look at it, call it out, & actually fix it is appalling.
This dark period will not be closed out anytime soon, its more a matter of how much longer we can pretend we never knew about the darkness that was right in front of us.

I mean that one pope decided he totes could just quit after being chosen by god... ya gotta wonder what he did to end up locked up inside the vatican for the rest of his days. Normally they just send them to another pariash with no warning.
