There is no 'legal' protection to region coding on DVDs. If I want to have a Region 1 DVD player in Region 2 to play Region 1 DVDs, I can. It's just a ridiculous, anachronistic artificial scarcity to prop-up obsolete marketing windows.
Neither is true of DRM. Similarly, a gun safety catch doesn't require you to have permission from the gun designer/seller/police/any of their great-grandchildren to unlock, let alone fire the gun. Nor to sell it.
Well, 'life' will soon be twisted by the copywrong controllers to 'life of any part of the genetic code of the creator or any of the controllers', i.e. to the Nth generation...
Typical copyright-abusers, always whining about copy-'rights'. You know what I call that? Entitlement. NEWS FLASH. You are not entitled to profit. Life, libery and the pursuit of happiness is a privelidge, not a right. You should be so lucky your government is benevolent enough to legislate them away! And don't complain when you fuck up and the public boot your puppets away.
Yes, that scam artist Turner, all he did was copy a live scene, he didn't actually do the 'hard' work of lining up the carts, ploughing the fields or terraforming a clear sky. And that Monet, stealing the images of water-lillies owned by 'Nature'. And then there is that renegade Michaelangelo...
Do they have the crapsack Ribbon? No, then they are probably better overall, if you are forced to work with a ribbon-flavour of Office - luckily I'm not - yet!
Ah but they don't just rely on them, they get them expanded and used to close down innovation. Just look at what those fancy-schmancy aereoplanes did to the rail industry!

Key concept - gun 'safety catch' = safety feature (like seat belts).
