Re: Lard
What penalties? Do you get fined? Imprisoned? If I had a choice between frying eggs in canola oil and frying them in bacon fat, I think canola would come in a distant third. Pork fat rules! Now I need to go out and buy some lard. And maybe some beef tallow. Yeah, baby!

It's over. There's nothing more you can do. Resistance is futile. You will be assimilated. Or jailed. Or terminated. They have won. The populace has lost. Mopping up is all that remains for them.

Re: Perfect MPAA logic here, just like their accounting.
These issues are most properly adjudicated by the Department of Redundancy Department, whereby all past recollections, present perceptions, and future intentions must be submitted for approval before execution. Your execution. Thank you for helping to ensure the future, by forgetting the past, and denying the present. Your efforts are appreciated. Or were. Or will be. Depending.

I'll take a stab at it!
"Home of the cowering sheeple and land of the illusion of freedom."
Homeland Security is the American Gestapo. Period. I wonder when they are going to change their name to reflect that. They don't have to use the German words Geheime Staatspolizei, but Secret State Police is a fitting and proper name for them.

This country is starting to remind me of the lyrics from the song "Plastic People", performed by Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention in their 1967 album "Absolutely Free".
Take a day, and walk around
Watch the Nazis run your town
Then go home, and check yourself
You think we're singing 'bout someone else
This was in 1967, when the Viet Nam War was going on full swing, and any opposition to the government's stance was viewed as treasonous by the majority of the boobs that still comprise the majority of the populace. Not much has changed in the interim.

Re:
Yep, that's all they ever need to say to justify their fascism - "It's for the children!" or "It's to fight terrorism!". Then, the mouth-breathing boneheads who comprise the majority of the electorate lap it up and say, "Yes! Please give us some more!", and the country continues its devolution into Idiocracy, which is now an irreversible process.

Re: Re: Re:
No, it's not misleading. You, on the other hand, are. The movies you represent as being choices, by and large, suck ass. The theater experience is created by the theater owners to start with, and if the places are the usual filthy overcrowded hellholes they tend to be, people will not go there. I sure as hell won't and haven't been to a local theater in over ten years. I could go on, but it would be a waste of my time.
