I have passed plenty of cops on the highway going under the speed limit without an issue. *shrug*
I also I completely think this is post justification for why they found somebody suspicious. Just a big CYA that will literally hit as many people as possible.
After actually getting Fiber with dedicated speeds(no "up to" BS) I will never go back to cable. Trying to pull in customers with compelling products and actual competition. It is amazing!
Look at the list of top grossing movies of all time. Notice how there are tons from the last decade? Yeah me too. So if google is leading to more piracy and Hollywood is hurting so badly then how exactly are those movies doing so well again?
So my question is did they have a form letter for this? Like they just have a stack of these forms in a drawer somewhere in case this happens? Who wants to bet this was some district school wide mandate for any student, with the obvious aim being towards middle school and high school students. And because school teachers and administrators want zero tolerance because that means they can always fall back on "not my fault I was only following the rules" this form was handed to a 5 year old. Seriously bizarrely stupid on all levels.
I had backups of photo libraries stored on megaupload before it went down. Backups of favorites and encryption keyset stored in rar files. I had even a few home videos of my kid crawling around. All before I had my own home RAID5 NAS(which is actually what pushed me to get one). I believe you are projecting your own use of cyberlockers onto the whole of everybody else here. Just because you use them solely for piracy doesn't mean they are not used by plenty of other legitimate people for legitimate purposes.
Smart phone proliferation has not even reached a decade yet! Are these people so bad at their jobs now that they forgot how to do them in less than 10 years? What if ISIS or some other crazy group managed to actually fly a small plane above the US and put off a nuke, effectively EMPing a large part of the US? Would ALL of the FBI and CIA suddenly be absolutely 100% useless then because they don't have computers?
This is how you could always tell the professors who cares about their students from the ones who didn't. AKA the ones who built their own questions and posted them vs the ones who pulled from the ever changing current edition questions. Most of my major engineering classes didn't assign work out of the books, they opted for creating their own questions. They did this because they knew "new editions" were complete BS. There were even several teachers that held old editions of the books you could borrow for certain time frames. But again that was only for major engineering classes where you are a "proven" serious student and they know who you are. Not the throwaway bright eyed freshman who doesn't know any better.
I will not capture video, audio, or pictures without the consent of all persons being recorded, their knowledge of the media’s intended use, as well as the approval of a staff member.
Does that not come off to anybody else as a way to protect a staff member from a potentially embarrassing video from being taken? Also many of these seem redundant or at the very least should be combined into one point. Almost as if the person creating this didn't actually think this through only haphazardly made additions after the fact...

Am I to take your post to insinuate that modern "Top 40 pop" music is garbage? Get off your high horse. Nobody cares that you don't like today's modern music. That is a trend most people go through. It is called "get off my lawn" syndrome.
They can't acknowledge anything that would remotely go against their pulpit of "content is the only game in town". So of course they won't talk about this.
My Aunt worked for DARPA during the 60s and 70s. I actually asked her about this a couple days ago. She actually got kinda pissed about it some person taking credit for all the hard work of people whom she knew and worked with back then.
This hack thinks he will be able to sell books and make money, and he is probably right. And for that reason he will never go away.
Now this should be a stiff wake up call to the professor in question about why harsh use of copyright is a stupid. But who wants to bet he doesn't learn that lesson.
