I have been working with computers and networks since 1983. I called my congressmen then asking them to vote against the ECPA. It still passed, but I at least did something.
It's because of people like you that won't "waste their time" that we have these problems. If you can't stand up for what you believe, you deserve just what you get. This takes 30 seconds to complete; is YOUR freedom and rights not worth that small amount of time?
'Of course, Feinstein's claim that "terror is up worldwide"...'
I think they are probably right, at least for state-sponsored terrorism. ...Oh, by state-sponsored I mean US sponsored. TSA terrorism is at an all time high.
You missed the point. There is not a separate ssl key for each account, only one for all of them. Otherwise, the business would drown in the costs of certificates.
"Imagine if links to content on legitimate sites were labeled – directly in the search result –with a certification mark indicating that the site is licensed and actually pays royalties to creators."
I can't remember the last time I downloaded any unauthorized content, but this would be a GREAT idea; then I would know to avoid all the certified sites as too expensive.
This whole, long post could have been shortened right after the first quote, "Do I, as an American, have any concerns about whether the NSA is illegally or surreptitiously targeting or tracking the communications of other Americans?"
I'm not really concerned about others either, just myself, family, and friends.
That press conference was a delaying tactic. The next step is shutting down Congress, tearing up the constitution, and becoming a complete police state. Like the Soviet Union really wanted to be. Then the final step is World Domination!! :>

Nope. Not complacent, just a totally clueless government ant dutifully fulfilling his role as a government advocate.
