You are equating "athletes" to "ordinary citizens", but what Mr. Follmer really means is that those (brown) dumb (brown) jocks only think they know the law.
all but two of the defendants are alleged to have contacted a "fence," who actually was an undercover police officer.
This sets off my alarm bells. Who initiated that contact? Could it have been in fact the case that no one stole anything until egged on by the police officer?
Who is this "We" that has been doing this for many years?
And I'm a little concerned here; applying your advice to this situation seems to say to me that you want the FDA to approach ISPs to get the DNS servers they provide to their customers to not resolve these names?
"As sheriff, I went down [to schools] and met [met, as in, didn't know, was a stranger to] with kids and I taught them about bicycle safety and not to talk to strangers [like me]".
Probably worth pointing out to the "culturally" ignorant that John Wayne was called "The Duke" (though he apparently preferred to be addressed as just "Duke" or his birth name, "Marion").
Wikipedia helpfully provides a list of others for DU to target.
To be fair, it is clear from the context that the the officer is simply misusing "objectionable"; he's trying to tell whoever's on the phone that Mr. Nygard objected when they tried to screen him.
To be harsh, since the TSA agent qualifies that with "filming me", is he using that to explain why the screening wasn't carried out anyway?
While I agree that predictive policing is a bad idea, perhaps it could be used here simply to prioritize who gets body cams first while these departments spread the necessary purchases to achieve 100% coverage out over, say, 3 years.

Sounds to me like in between they did receive the court order; but it doesn't explicitly say so.
