I think he meant that it was to be *exclusive to* Tivo which it isn't I can see it on my Blueray player and windows media center. originally they were considering offering it exclusively to Tivo and one other item (I want to say playstation but I am not sure)
"Just once I would like you to take the side of the content creators. Posting the entire article with a link is doing much more than "alerting". It pretty much drains the revenue stream of the content creator. "
How do you figure its draining revenue? not behind a paywall (if it were it would be foolish to link to it really because people would have to pay to read it) so it must be ad revenue, right? Now think about this. 20 people read the blog, click on the link and 20 people who wouldn't have normally been there are now reading the article AND viewing said ads on the page.
So now tell us, how is this hurting them? I am so confused in how you can just come on here and bash Mike without actually trying to have a good argument to bash him with.
Why would MS have anything to do with this? The "Shared Folder" they speak of is the one you setup when you set up limewire. It asks you where the folder you want to share is and or files and you point it to it. i think by default it points to your download folder. MS has nothing to do with that other than being the OS limewire is installed on. (Don't think its available in MAC and *nix installs.
The key to getting more money in power in government is showing need. Step 1, Show that you have the absolute best policy you can BS your way through to get the results you want. Step 2, spend your ENTIRE budget and then some on something having nothing to do with what you need money for (the more you spend the more you get...forget efficient and doing things the right way. Step 3, ask for more money cause obviously if you throw enough money into a bottomless pit you will get favorable results. Step 4, repeat until you win. Step 5, Profit.
They want a percentage of the sale cost? then they can pay the same % of the closing costs, my mortgage, any wear and tear on the building, and a % all the upkeep of said house. Deal?
I am a firm believer in hands free. I use it and my company required it's use. I would only use it though when in bumper to pumper traffic else I would pull over. Even though its hands free your full concentration isn't on the road.
Actually most people know the electoral college and how it works, however feel that it needs to be revamped because something that might have worked a few hundred years ago (1787) isn't working now and needs to be updated or ratified majorly.
They do, to a point. If you read the "user agreement" if you put non-HP approved ink into your printers, it voids the warranty. I used to be a field tech for HP. Some of the new high end printers wont print unless there is an HP coded toner in it. HP only approves of their ink, and then there is a security firm or two that makes ink for the security enabled HP printers. That is it.
Just looking at the charges they may be using it to fool people into thinking its part of the official thing...though I am unable to read the documents from work today
...Your comparison of eating a sandwich and someone stepping on your foot is not even close to being related. Now, if you were to say you wanted to make a sandwich to solve world hunger, and someone took that sandwich and added rat poison to it, that would be more accurate. You apparently have no idea what these types of sites do. They are malicious. They look only to destroy. It is a public safety issue as well as the fact they want to do it to keep something that is offered freely and make it private.
You need to stop having your shots of jack with your sandwich.
"We should not as taxpayers have to fork over more money for digital copies of public documents."
Have you tried to move your medical records lately? I had to move (damn layoffs) and it cost me 75$ to get a copy of my medical records for my new doctor because i wasn't gonna drive 500 miles every time I needed to see a PCP. What is WORSE is that was HARD COPY! If I wanted to just download them it was well over $150!!!! This is information about ME! Why do I have to pay for MY information???
