I agree with this. Go ahead and block your site to AdBlock users. I'm perfectly happy to go somewhere else. I don't need to find some run around to get on. The web site is free to run it how they want and I'm free to just not go there.
I was fine with simple ad banner on the top of the page, but it's gone so far past that where you're downloading more Ad and tracking data then the topic you want to read. The web site is grabbing garbage from 20-30 different sites and dishing it out to you. It's beyond crazy. I didn't asked to be tracked. I don't want to see a flood of ad's all around, left, right, top, bottom, in the middle of something I want to read either. It's just not worth it. Now you can get infected with this garbage because it's become automated to the point where no one is checking anything.
No thanks,.. Block away,. I'll go away. I'm fine with that.
I remember back in High School, so long ago, We had a graduating class photo taken. So it was a pretty large group of people, and the Jocks were in the middle kind of back, but 6 or so of them decided to do the whole finger thing. Of course that was blocked out with a small white circle on each of their hands. I don't even remember what the end result of that was.
There's always 1 or more of them in a group ready to do something I guess.
Who cares why he has the money in his car. Some people don't trust banks!!! Doesn't matter why, there was no drugs or anything illegal in his car and he did nothing wrong other then not signal a lane change, which 99% of the people out there don't seem to do these days.
I know I would have refused to let the police search my car. Go get your dog, whatever. See MONEY, Lottery WIN for them!!! Doesn't matter if it was meant for the Red Cross.
I'm a real Conservative and the law is DUMB! I'm also for smaller Government. The real problem is to many RINO's in Government. Really just a wing of the Democrat party at this point. Obama/Bush, really not much of a difference.
If Data was such a issue over the Network, why do they keep bumping speeds up? Why is the CAP the same for someone with a slower service speed then someone with a much faster service speed that will hit that cap much faster? These things never made any sense.
I'm disappointed in ROKU and won't buy any more of their products. If you're going to be in bed with the cable company's, I'm not sure why your product exists at that point?
I have 3 ROKU's at home among Apple TV's etc. I guess no more ROKU's for me.
You're not doing that for ALL of the video! You are only doing that for a part of a video that was requested. You request Officer Camera data for 2:35PM 24th, Feb for the incident you're requesting. Anything happened before or after that is left alone. So only a small part of the recording needs anything done to it.
What happens with a false claim against a cop? Well now no proof either. So it works both ways.
Except you now have more Product Placement Ad's. The ones really driving me up the wall lately are all the Microsoft Surface Product placement ad's into all kinds of shows. It makes me not ever want to buy one.
I did cut the cord 4 years ago. I'm not going back ever. I get most of my TV from a Antenna and Netflix. So I already get NBC and SNL though I can't remember the last time I watched SNL. It's all recorded onto my TIVO Roamio, and these days, it's now a 1 button push to skip all the commercials for each break.
How a 30% cut in one late night weekend show and adding more Product placements changes anything? Are these people this dumb? How about the Insane prices you push onto cable company's in the form of Re-Transmission fee's!!!! Something that in fact helps YOU get more viewers to watch your channel so you can charge more money for Ad's!!! There should be no fee, yet it's never enough. More and more money which in turn raises Cable costs much faster then inflation when in the end people have enough of the high costs and CUT THE CORD!!!
So thanks to the FBI, the Internet is going more and more DARK!!!!!! HAHAHAHAHA I hope it continues and accelerates. Maybe the U.S. Government will then wise up and realize it's a global market and we can't go back in time and pretend Encryption doesn't exist or that criminals won't take advantage of weak security.
Yep, if they really didn't want Google to be grabbing a few lines of everything and linking to it. That 100% takes care of the problem NOW. That's been possible to do for years now. It's not some new thing.
This is really about a Google shakedown for money!!! I'm 100% for Google to not link to anything form them. Their traffic would drop like a rock also.
Quite frankly if I was Google, when a company complained like this, I'd get on the phone to whoever and say go ahead and BLOCK anything of their from being linked on Google as they're to lazy for a robot.txt at their site.
Of course then they're want the government to go after Google for blocking them and how unfair that is. So really Google can't win either way.
If you go to a site and they block you for using a Ad-Blocker, I say they have every right to block you! Just like you have every right to block the ad's.
When I run into that, I say, fine, Bye, bye!!! Then go someplace else. There's lots of other sites on the web to go to that don't block you.
Fair is Fair and it should work both ways. I cut the cord, I get most of my TV over the air with a Antenna, FREE. I still skip all the commercials using my TIVO. I block ad's on my PC, etc using Ghostery. I'm tried of all the ad's. Ad's that can eat up to around 70% of your bandwidth!!! You go to a site for a article and your Web browser is grabbing Garbage from 20-30 other places at the same time. It's really just ridiculous.
They brought it upon themselves. It was one thing if it was some simple banner on the top of the page. Now it's Video and audio going off, and animated crap all over. Hell trying to find the next page of a article in all the mess can be a hassle. I block most all. With Ghostery, I will allow a few things for sites. A couple I'll whitelist if they play nice. If you're web site is grabbing stuff form 10-20+ places, it's all blocked.
This matter was settled 20 years ago. The FBI giving the same going dark, etc excuses. Congress already acted and came out with CALEA. So I don't get how the FBI can be pushing the "All Writs Act" anyway!!!
Already exists, it's called using your Web Browser!!! Which is what I do every year going to TaxAct.com to do my taxes. So it's ONLINE. No software needed to install on your computer so it doesn't matter what OS you're using.
There's no need to install that one time use garbage onto your computer. Buying and replacing every year. I still remember the days of buying TurboTax for my Amiga computer way, back!!!
I was going to say that's a pretty LOW number of people downloading a copy! It's fantasy land if you think you can get that number down to zero or even remotely close to zero.
The more you try and lock things up and make content harder to get, the more it'll be pirated.
It's also really easy to get anything you want and normally in HD and commercial free. Plus be 100% automated where your pirated shows are grabbed all on it's own ready to watch on your AppleTV, ROKU, etc box. You don't even have to Torrent it.
Normally I would say for the Government to stay out of it and let the free market work as it should, but in this case, we already have Government created Monopolies which put everyone into this mess, and now these company's are taking even more advantage of it. This whole CAP thing is just a scam to make more money. If you flee paying their TV service to just use Internet, now they'll get you on your internet. You're paying no matter what.

Toss all the loopholes, the givaways, etc. Everyone just pays a little less in taxes in general. The IRS could then be greatly reduced in size.
