Stop lying. That statement is demonstrably false.
Heck, Megaupload created a tool for the Hollywood studios to go and remove links they thought were infringing, with no verification needed. And of course, the studios abused it and removed perfectly legal content including free open source software and other content that the legitimate copyright holders wanted on Megaupload.

Re: Cost Effective?
Assuming you used computers (cheaper and more efficient in every respect than monkeys), you're going to very quickly run out of particles in the entire observable universe to store your creations. In fact, you wouldn't even make a dent before you ran out of storage space.
A quick Google gives me a few sources that say there's over 1 million words in the English language.
Therefore, there are more than x possible 400 word combinations. 1 million to the 400th power.
x = 1,000,000^400 or x = 1 * 10^400,000,000
There are 10^80 particles in the observable universe (which is already unimaginably huge). Well, 10^80 if you could convert everything to hydrogen atoms. So, if you could do that, and then use each atom to store a single 400 word creation, you would have gotten 0.0000002% of the way through the possibilities.
Yes, I know the claim is nonsense, or a joke. But maths is fun.

Re:
I agree.
I'm fine if Hollywood makes up a batshit insane storyline that originated when a writer heard about something that really happened.
In fact, so long as the movie doesn't take itself seriously as an attempt to portray something that happened or could actually happen, they can be perfectly enjoyable. Get the audience to buy into the absurdity - don't fool them into believing it is based on reality.

Man, I was a pretty bright teenager who competed in local programming challenges and stuff in high school. I want my own TV show where I can hang out of a plane with an ethernet cable to a speeding car below.

the guy who "owns" the tapes
Why the scare quotes? Of course he owns the tapes. Even your insane and fucked up version of copyright says he owns the tapes. It's just that he cannot legally distribute copies of them.

Re: Nothing will change by itself.
What is big and disturbing enough?
6 years ago we had the largest national and worldwide economic disaster since the Great Depression, in which governments and all major financial institutions were intimately involved with and at fault. No change, the same politicians oversee and are bought off by the same companies.
For 10 or 12 years we've had leaks about massive surveillance of practically everyone by every 3 or 4 lettered agency of all the biggest western countries. No change, the same politicians not doing anything resembling oversight of those agencies.
A month ago, we have the latest in a long string of questionable police shootings, and then massive overreaction using military gear against the following protests. No change, most police forces around the country are still getting new military equipment and no oversight from the politicians gladly helping them get it.
There isn't a "massive conspiracy" as Hollywood movies would have against the citizenry or politicians. There is simply illegal and unconstitutional actions, abuse of power, and no punishment or accountability when they happen. If those things aren't big enough to actually get some accountability back into the system - no single outside force or situation is. We have to demand it and keep demanding until it changes. We as societies are ultimately in charge of our governments. It's time we reminded the politicians of that.
GPS can be just as bad at pinpointing an exact location as cell site location if you don't have 4 or 5 satellites in view. With 4 clear signals, accuracy is 6-12 meters. Can't find specifics on less, but I know I've been in situations where my phone thinks I'm half a mile or more away from where I actually am (frequently indoors in a very large building, so probably getting less than the 4 signals).

No thanks, I'd rather not SWAT myself. I'm already on enough watchlists for my use of encryption, p2p piracy, visiting Techdirt, questioning the US government and other authority, and for voting for someone not in one of the two largest political parties.

Just FYI, to rational people, your argument looks like: "I realize this is insane from all angles, but it's not level 10 insanity, it's only level 9 insanity, maybe 9.5 at worst."
Lately, the Supreme Court has made it a habit to make rulings so narrow that they give no guidance to anyone on what the law actually is. Face it, they screwed up on this one, because they didn't answer any of the fundamental questions of why what Aereo was doing was not permitted under the law.

Re: sales matter
it's the old "would you like fries with that" taken to it's logical conclusion.
There's a difference between:
a) Would you like fries with that? No, okay, your total is $6.50, please drive around.
and
b) Would you like fries with that? No? But they're tasty! Okay, what about a salad then? But you should eat healthier! Okay then, how about a milkshake? An apple pie? Can I supersize your drink? How about a wifi pass, they're only a dollar? A coffee mug? A cheap plastic toy in the shape of the last Disney movie? Do you want to donate a dollar to help some medical disease? What about a buck to feed some kids in the third world?
There's a difference between offering an additional product or service to increase your company's value to the customer and trying to bleed your customer dry.

Shareholder lawsuit?
If that's the story IV is telling it's shareholders, then they probably should've run it by their lawyers first (though isn't everyone that works there a lawyer?). Lying to the public isn't going to get them in trouble. But knowingly making false statements, or even ignorantly making false statements, to their shareholders is going to get them sued and especially fast as though shareholders just saw their "investment" go into red with the Alice decision.
