If this is the case why is it that when India didn't have drug patents the drug companies didn't all crash and burn or leave the India? Why is it that instead the market for drugs there increased? Your suggestion that allowing generic, more affordable drugs is so detrimental to the drug companies seems to be missing any proof.
Are you seriously comparing Zuckerberg to an elected official? That makes absolutely no sense. Congress has created terrible laws that lock up content that should be freely accessible, pander to the wants of people who are willing to pay, help bring us closer to a police state, allow drug patents which lead to deaths because people cannot afford the drugs and rarely do what is in the interest of the public. And what do they get for doing that while (as silvercat noted) being paid by us? Million dollar job offers for helping out the corporations against public interest. I can use your 'logic' all over the place. Car companies make cars, and millions die every day from cars, yet they are making Billions! The mobile carriers offer texting, and millions die because of distracted drivers texting, and yet they make millions. Google/apple made smart phones that allow even more distractions while driving, yet they are making billions, etc, etc. Please come up with an argument that even has a tiny shred of relevance next time.
Pretty much every lobbyist group seeks out former members of congress because those are the poeple who know how the system works.

Really, how many times do we have to tell you people that just because someone was elected does not give them the right to do whatever the hell they want. You will not find anyone who you agree with on everything, and lately it's hard to find someone you agree with on the majority of things. The election is not (or should not) be the end of public input. There's this nice invention called the internet where you can actually get instant and useful feedback. Also, it would be a nice start if they actually consulted people other than the *AA's.
see QR code on a billboard, scan it, and order for online digital delivery immediately
Yes cause that's what the world needs, more idiots using cell phones trying to hold it in place and get it to pick up the qr code while driving. Also, the current logical step is for digital delivery from their site without having to jump through yet another hoop. I can tell you I've had an android phone for over two years now, you know how many qr codes I've scanned? 1, maybe 2, when they first came out and I first got the phone. There is nothing logical about using them, Leigh did a great story on why they are not a good idea to use
And yet, if they left that out they'd probably be bashed for not saying that. It's not like that's all they did. They also 'identify rental discs and prevent them from being imported' and 'retains all of the DVD CCA's scrambling and adds more encryption'
Why aren't we hearing the usual complaints about DRM here?
Same reason you don't hear about it on Netflix, because it's non-intrusive DRM. I'm not a fan of DRM, but if it does not make me jump through 15 hoops to use it, I don't care about it.
But how is it trivial when people like Logan use it to equate infringement with if you were a painter and were putting the finishing touches on your pieces for a show, wouldn't you be upset if someone broke into your studio, took your unfinished paintings, and hung them in their public gallery without your permission? When those are two completely different things
Funny, apparently Logan thinks all PR is good PR. I guess he doesn't realize when you sound like a jackass that's not the kind of PR you want. I guess he didn't read about the guy that did the same with Dave at PA
You make absolutely no sense. The question for illegally obtaining something would be stealing, infringement, etc...The end result is not the same. Stealing, the owner no longer has it, infringement, they do, the consumer side, yes you have it or you don't, but you are ignoring what else stealing incorporates. Same as in my analogy, the question may be what you said, but the end result is the exactly the same, you're dead. If I ignore part of the result then yes, they are exactly the same, you're dead, but whether or not someone goes to jail is different based on the circumstances so you can no just interchange the words. Good try, but no
by your logic murder is the same as accidental death. The results are the the same, whether they get struck by lightning or shot by someone, they are dead either way. So does it make sense to say that when someone is struck by lightning they are murdered?
Publishers make more money on Amazon, authors make more money on amazon, people buy more because it's cheaper on amazon, but amazon is evil? I think someone missed the class on how to argue logically. When trying to make a point, you don't talk about how everything is better because of a company, then say how bad they are. Though it does make it easier for everyone else to see how much of an idiot you are

I agree, when the anti-marcus AC told me not to be like Marcus a couple weeks ago I figured I must be doing something right.
