"Piracy facilitates business in this industry - and that means jobs. Obviously, the physical copying of Hollywood mailrooms is a far cry from the digital and international piracy truly threatening the studios"
last years box office numbers say they aren't exactly on their last legs.
this is one of those "route around" kind of bullshits. legislating it will only force people to come just that teensy bit savvier needed to defeat whatever half assed plan is brought about, assuming it's not recognized as impossible to do at some point, taken out and shot.
I had to set up my mothers new comp not long ago, and had a look at the interwebz for the first time in years without adblock.
it was a fucking mess. most of my normal pages were now buried in obnoxious ads. add to that the potential for getting served some malware from a random ad on an otherwise trustworthy site, and i can't imagine choosing to do it, not for you masnick, not for anyone.
Also, am i hallucinating, or is this the second story about this within the last 48 hours or so?
meh. i'd be worried about the impact and implications if it weren't immediately obvious that, as usual, this asshole has no idea how computers or the internet works.
i...don't actually see the problem. yes, he knows that it helps create buzz, but that doesn't mean he has to agree with illegal downloading, merely that he agrees HBO needs better methods of getting content to people who'd like to watch it.
it kind of sounds like he's agreeing with you on both sides....piracy is a symptom of a fucked up delivery system that doesn't meet consumer needs, so make the best of it as content creator.
lol. keep telling yourself that. Just because some elderly alzheimers patients are still paying aol bills doesn't mean it's a viable business plan anymore.
