Yes, I've never forgiven them for cosying up to Andrew Wakefield, the MMR = autism faker.
I also love how every other paper can be covering a serious story of national or international significance, but they care more about how 'women on Royal Navy ships distract the men with their wicked wiles'.
About the only good thing that can be said about them is that they *aren't* a Murdoch rag.
Basically yes, if you define infringing as 'stealing' then yes, as a whole society seems to be ok with that. Just like as a whole, society tolerates limited speeding.
Notice that actual stealing, i.e. shoplifting, isn't tolerated - but people still make concessions to its effects.
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: ...in the land of make believe
So where was the oh-so-efficient FBI for Oklahoma, the WTC in 93, or anywhere in 2001?
Seriously, this is penny-ante stuff. European intelligence services break stuff like this up all the time without a sweat, and believe me, we've had a *lot* of terrorism in Europe in the last 60 years (some of it even funded by the US!). So once again, you play catch-up and then try and act like you're doing something *so* amazing - and yet, there is so little credible threat (like from Iraq) that the FBI have to resort to making them up! And then you complain that we call them on it?
Seriously, go to Londonderry with a Union Jack on, or the Basque Country with a Spanish flag, and you'll be glad of the efforts of *real* intelligence outfits.
Oh, it's probably safe that you're in no danger of buying it, it's likely to be *so* obscure... and he's lapping up every RIAA 'promise' that he'll make it big... some day. if it weren't for those pesky pirates!
You inevitably lose some people in the transition. And why should he suffer so disproportionately when he is actually doing 'free' advertising for Sony?
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Music doesn't trigger huge payouts
Precisely, that's $200k not going through their coffers, and if even a few more people manage even a sizeable fraction of that, that's a lot of blow and hookers they'll miss out on!
You might as well work for them, because they're the only ones who are going to appreciate your efforts. If you're doing this on your own dime, then that's your 'loss'.
Well then, Sony's artists have to be 'creative' and stop using the same notes as other people have been using - after all, if they've been in use for millenia, they're hardly original!
I think he missed the older meaning of 'prove' which actually means 'test'. Hence "The proof of the pudding is in the eating" means "The test of the pudding is in the eating".

Part of the trouble with physical solutions is there is always someone who abuses it.
